Publisher's Note: Impact Of In First Month Proudly Measured By The Numbers

I am VERY PROUD of the impact TheJ.Ca has had on our COMMUNITY in such a short time.

In our first 4 weeks, our posts and stories on Facebook have reached 20,000 - TWENTY THOUSAND of you! We engaged with 10,000 - TEN THOUSAND - of you who’ve liked, commented or shared our stories, videos, posts and articles.

Meanwhile our Twitter account @ca_theJ accrued over 93,000 impressions on less than 170 Tweets, and 1800 profile visits resulted. That puts our combined social media reach for our news platform in the first month of operation at over 113,000. All achieved with no paid boosts, or paid staff. Readers have enthusiastically welcomed us in Winnipeg, in Canada, and beyond.

We take pride in providing smartly-written and researched breaking news stories and creative community features, covering Jewish issues and events in Israel. As you can see, our storyboard matches up to any in the ethnic press in the country, and now much larger outlets come to us for background information and story leads.

As we continue through the start-up phase your financial support will be crucial. We have proven we are able to motivate and organize the community into taking action standing up for Israel, and standing up against antisemites and propagandists who demonize the Jewish people and their supporters. began after 4200 people signed a petition that formed the basis of the first effective political response to the incursion of celebrity antisemites like Linda Sarsour into Canada. There is much work ahead of us to accelerate our media coverage, expand our outreach to youth and the synagogue community, and to continue to engage allies in the aboriginal, Christian, cultural, and secular realms.
