“We are not 7 million Jews in Israel and 8 million throughout the rest of the world, but a united nation of 15 million with one common destiny. With this in mind, we can take on any conflict or challenge facing us,” said Knesset member and Minister of Diaspora Affairs Omer Yankelevich.
Even though her semester will be online this fall because of the coronavirus pandemic, pro-Israel student and CAMERA Fellow Sophie Sklar of McGill University says she will “be writing as much as ever and fighting as much as ever for this cause I care so deeply about.”
“We pride ourselves on our history, where we once lived together, and are obligated to rescue the story that was once buried,” said Murcia President Fernando López Miras.
“It is in our national interest to see Israel succeed as a liberal democracy in the Middle East, and Australia continues to strongly support its right to exist within secure and internationally recognized borders,” said Australian Ambassador to Israel Chris Cannan.
A letter from hundreds of members of parliament from 20 countries noted that such a move has the potential to bring peace and prosperity closer to the region.
