Canadians for Israel’s Legal Rights (CILR) is proud to announce a special live speaking engagement featuring Member of Knesset (MK) Dan Illouz, a Canadian-born advocate for Israel and its legal rights. MK Illouz will address an audience in Toronto on October 10, 2023, at 7 PM, discussing the “current state of the State of Israel and the importance of Yom San Remo to the State of Israel and the Diaspora.”

The event will take place at Shaarei Shomayim Synagogue, located at 7 Glencairn Ave, Toronto.

Israel and the Diaspora are currently navigating challenging times, and Illouz is uniquely positioned to provide insights into the dynamics at play. Illouz has garnered praise from Mort Klein, National President of the Zionist Organization of America, who describes him as “a brilliant and extraordinarily analytical new member of the Israeli Knesset” and a passionate defender of Israel’s legal, political, moral, and religious rights.

At the event, Illouz will shed light on the turmoil in Israel and emphasize the significance of Yom San Remo in “Debunking the Occupation Lie.”

Illouz was born in Montreal, Canada, in 1986, to parents of French and Moroccan descent. He began his journey as a passionate advocate for Israel during his university years, studying at Yeshivat HaKotel in the Old City of Jerusalem. After completing his studies, he returned to Canada and pursued a bachelor’s degree in law at McGill University, where he actively engaged in efforts to support Israel on campuses and strengthen the Jewish and Zionist identity among students, including serving as President of the Hillel.

In 2009, Illouz made Aliyah to Israel, where he obtained a master’s degree in public policy from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He later earned certification as a lawyer and served in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Currently, Dan serves in the International Law department of the military prosecutor’s office and resides in Jerusalem with his wife, Bat-El.

Throughout his career, Illouz has held various positions, including working in the Department of International Agreements at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and at the Herzog, Fox, Neeman & Co law firm. He has also been deeply involved in community and outreach projects, including managing outreach initiatives for the Yesha Council.

Dan’s political journey includes serving as a legislation advisor to Member of Knesset Yariv Levin, becoming a Jerusalem City Council member and heading the local audit committee. He has managed the activities of the Zionist Organization of America in Israel and served as a community manager at the Kohelet Forum.

Thank you for choosing TheJ.Ca as your source for Canadian Jewish News.

We do news differently!

Our positioning as a Zionist News Media platform sets us apart from the rest. While other Canadian Jewish media are advocating increasingly biased progressive political and social agendas, TheJ.Ca is providing more and more readers with a welcome alternative and an ideological home.

We revealed the incursion of anti-Israel progressive elements such as IfNotNow into our communities. We have exposed the distorted hateful agenda of the “progressive” left political radicals who brought Linda Sarsour to our cities, and we were first to report on many disturbing incidents of Nazi-based hate towards Jews across Canada.

But we can’t do it alone. We need your HELP!

Our ability to thrive and grow in 2020 and beyond depends on the generosity of committed readers and supporters like you.
