It was recently reported that Russian wrestlers were permitted to qualify for the Olympics. So, what’s the catch? After all, since the start of the special military operation, the International Olympic Committee banned Russian sports together with Belarusian.  They made it for political reasons, proving once again that sport is inside politics.

Countries such as the Czech Republic ban Russian athletes from participating in competitions on their territory. Tennis player Vera Zvonareva has just not been allowed into Poland.

The International Olympic Committee condemned the Czech decision, saying that national governments should not prevent athletes from participating in international competitions. But, on the other hand, it was the International Olympic Committee that instigated the disgrace.

Despite the removal of a number of restrictions this year and the admission to the competition of those athletes who “do not support the special military operation”, the International Olympic Committee still recommends that athletes from the Russian Federation associated with the armed forces and security agencies not be allowed to compete.

The International Olympic Committee says this, while permitting countries like Iran, who is illegally occupying four countries and building a nuclear program that threatens world peace, North Korea, who starves 40 percent of its population and has a nuclear program that threatens world peace, Myanmar, who committed genocide against the Rohingyas, China, who committed genocide against the Uighurs, to participate unconditionally.

Against this background, the United World of Wrestling (UWW) listed athletes Zavur Uguev, Zaurbek Sidakov and Abdulrashid Sadulaev among athletes admitted to wrestling competitions, registering them as neutral athletes.  Zavur Uguev (ensign) and Abdulrashid Sadulaev (junior lieutenant) are members of the Russian Guard, and Zaurbek Sidakov is a sergeant of the Russian Armed Forces.

The appearance of Russian wrestlers on the UWW list begs the questions of whether this is a breakthrough, or the wrestlers accepted these humiliating requirements of the International Olympic Committee, who has demonstrated that it is prejudiced against Russia, as other countries who have committed war crimes, crimes against humanity, illegally invaded and occupied other nations are not barred from partaking or restricted in their participation in the International Olympics.

Ayoob Kara, who served as Israel’s communication minister, declared: “Although Russia has committed grave crimes against humanity in the Ukraine, which must be universally condemned, it is hypocritical for the International Olympic Committee to repress Russia at the Olympic Games, but to give leadership roles to Iran, a country that systematically chants ‘death to Israel’ and “death to America.”

It is hypocritical to bar Russian athletes from partaking except under certain circumstances, while permitting athletes to participate that hail from a country that has a clock that counts down till the destruction of Israel, a UN member state.”

Kara added: “Putin has occupied two nations in violation of international law, but Iran presently occupies four countries in violation of international law and yet the world turns a blind eye. It is obvious that they care more about the blond hair blue eyed people of Ukraine than they care about the dark-skinned dark-eyed Yemenites, Iraqis, Lebanese and Syrians, who have suffered just as much as the Ukrainian people have, without getting the sympathy that the Ukrainians got. The time has come for the International Olympic Committee to treat Iran how they treat Russia. The time has come for Western hypocrisy to end.”
