Federal and local law enforcement in California have apprehended a felon who, the US Attorney’s Office claimed, “used messaging applications such as Telegram to post racist remarks against Jewish people, including calling for mass murder and genocide of Jews.”.

Ryan Scott Bradford, 39, is accused of posting instruction manuals for hand grenades and biological warfare, promoting the “Aryan Revolution,” and conspiring with another felon to sell methamphetamine. He was linked by his posts to two white extremist communities: the prison-based “San Fernando Valley Peckerwoods” and the “National Socialist Death Squad”.  Originating from California State prisons, the Peckerwoods have been implicated in fraud, drug and illegal firearms trafficking, and racially-motivated violence.

Bradford was described by agents as having a ‘violent extremist ideology and intent to kill Jews,’ after an FBI search of a house and RV in Reseda last Thursday.

Prosecutors allege that a calendar found in Bradford’s home was scrawled with a handwritten note: “New Year’s Resolution: Take over the world – save the Aryan race *Bake every single Jew”.

A joint task force from the FBI, DEA and LAPD discovered Nazi uniforms and Hitler posters, 116 rounds of ammunition, two 3D printers and 3D printed pistol receivers, and parts to convert guns into fully automatic machine guns. He’s also accused of marketing firearms and firearms parts created with the printers to other extremists. In addition, a jar described as a ready-to-use IED – improvised explosive device – and powders and liquids believed to be bomb components were recovered.

Convicted of burglary in 2012 and therefore prohibited to possess ammunition, Bradford has also been charged in several other criminal cases in the past, according to Los Angeles County court records.

A criminal complaint about his online rants began the process of unravelling the numerous offenses Bradford stands accused of.

Antisemitic messages posted to an extremist internet forum were traced by the FBI. An Amazon account with the username “Peck Erwood” and a woodpecker avatar connected to the racist extremist group were also uncovered. The account published product reviews for a drill press and 3D printer components, including one that contained an anti-Semitic phrase. A printer seized at the scene was imprinted with a large swastika. A partial photo of Bradford’s hand in an online post showed a finger tattoo with the word, “hate.”

“As alleged, this convicted felon affiliated with a violent white supremacist group who espouses horrific acts of violence against Jews appears to be manufacturing firearms and possessing an improvised explosive device,” United States Attorney Martin Estrada said.

“The potential danger to the community cannot be overstated. We will continue to investigate this matter to ensure that this defendant is held accountable for his crimes, and to keep our community safe from acts of violence motivated by racist and hateful ideology.”

“The defendant is a self-described anti-Semite associated with a white supremacist group which espouses the hatred of Jews and other minorities,” said Donald Alway, the Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s Los Angeles Field Office. “Hateful rhetoric that crosses the line into violence will get the attention of law enforcement and those who engage in such extremism will be held accountable should they act upon their violent rhetoric.”

“Dangerous individuals that conspire to distribute synthetic drugs, such as methamphetamine, are driving addiction and death in our communities,” added DEA Los Angeles Special Agent in Charge Bill Bodner.

The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Los Angeles Police Department are investigating. Bradford faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison for a drug conspiracy charge and up to 15 years for an ammunition possession charge.
