Let’s Negotiate

Sometimes, Israel has to prepare to fight instead

‘Let’s negotiate’ is the 2000 year old cry of the Jewish community and religion.

Judaism tells the world that it is better to negotiate than to fight. It pretends that all matters can be solved by negotiation and that Jews and non-Jews who want something, who desire something, who need something, will give up those desires in a “negotiation”.

Unfortunately it is not true. Desire and/or need overcome rational thought and kindness to your neighbor. Looking at most Palestinians and most antisemites as warm kindly people who really wish to do the best for their Jewish neighbors is unrealistic and very dangerous.

American and Canadian Jews have taken up the cry of “let’s negotiate”. They have also taken up the woke idea that individuals should remain passive and let their betters, like the government or professors or other smart people, handle their affairs.

The two ideas together amount to a massive give-away of the power of the people. That power has been given away and replaced by “informed negotiators” who will take care of their problems.

In the words of Eliza Doolittle of My Fair Lady, “wouldn’t’t it be loverly”. It would be, but in real life it is not realistic. Even in My Fair Lady, Eliza must fight for her rights. There is no negotiating with Professor Henry Higgins.

We are now in the middle of a fight between the left and the right over the power of the courts, or truthfully, the power of the old guard over the power of the leftist woke establishment.

It has little to do with Netanyahu himself who is a symbol of the tough, rational government that supports orthodox’s religious rights and at the same time is more than happy to fight Israel’s enemies,

It is a battle between the senior generation and the new woke generation with Netanyahu’s supporters fighting the idea that negotiations will solve their problems.

The real question being discussed is whether the Justices are correct in making laws according to the theory that negotiations will eventually lead to peace, or Netanyahu’s right that only strength and self-interest will win the peace.

Canadian and American Jews have bought into the woke idea that giving away power will bring peace and understanding. It is reasonable to think this way as this generation has fortunately, until now, experienced no wars that threaten them personally, and little antisemitism.

However times are changing. Negotiations are no longer working. Israel must be strong in its own self-interest or succumb eventually to Palestinian self-interest. That is the choice now facing Israel.

Thank you for choosing TheJ.Ca as your source for Canadian Jewish News.

We do news differently!

Our positioning as a Zionist News Media platform sets us apart from the rest. While other Canadian Jewish media are advocating increasingly biased progressive political and social agendas, TheJ.Ca is providing more and more readers with a welcome alternative and an ideological home.

We revealed the incursion of anti-Israel progressive elements such as IfNotNow into our communities. We have exposed the distorted hateful agenda of the “progressive” left political radicals who brought Linda Sarsour to our cities, and we were first to report on many disturbing incidents of Nazi-based hate towards Jews across Canada.

But we can’t do it alone. We need your HELP!

Our ability to thrive and grow in 2020 and beyond depends on the generosity of committed readers and supporters like you.

Monthly support is a great way to help us sustain our operations. We greatly appreciate any contributions you can make to support Jewish Journalism.
