Anyone with experience in event planning knows that predicting attendance can be a daunting task, especially for a morning event during a summer weekend in Toronto. With competing cultural events boasting larger budgets for advertising, the odds were stacked against us. The weather, too, could have easily deterred potential attendees. Yet, against all odds, Sunday’s event exceeded all expectations, leaving me in awe of its remarkable success.

As I arrived at Earl Bales Park, the designated meeting spot, I was thrilled to see a line of cars and bikes already forming. Capitalizing on the opportunity, I engaged in conversations with each driver, discussing the significance of Jewish pride and what it means to them personally. The attendees demonstrated fearlessness in their celebration of their Jewish identity, a testament to their unwavering commitment.

I am immensely grateful to be part of Herut Canada, an organization that tirelessly works for our communities, providing me with soul-filling experiences and invaluable connections with fellow Jews. The strong turnout at the event was matched by incredible support. From catered food to well-organized sign-in tables manned by dedicated volunteers, the event ran smoothly and seamlessly. Avi, my good friend, led us through a moving rendition of the Israeli national anthem, and Marat Resin, our generous venue donor and host, made the day even more special.

I cannot emphasize enough the impact of the Krav Maga demonstration led by Ilan Rosenberg, the owner of Commando Krav Maga, our trusted partner in self-defense training. This demonstration, a highlight for many, showcased the dedication and commitment of our community in empowering Jewish children and adults with essential self-defense skills.

In my daily life, I proudly embrace my Jewish identity, unafraid to display my heritage. Sunday’s event allowed me to raise my Jewish flag in both a symbolic and literal sense, surrounded by individuals I consider heroes in their own right. Their enthusiastic participation, wholehearted joy, and unwavering pride made it an exceptional day to be a Jew.

I extend my heartfelt invitation to your readers to join us at our next event. The positive energy that permeates these gatherings is palpable and contagious. I am still riding the exhilarating wave of enthusiasm from Sunday’s event, and I have no doubt that future gatherings will offer the same uplifting experience.

The unwavering commitment of the attendees and the overwhelming support we received underscore the strength of our community and its deep-rooted Jewish pride. We defy the odds, coming together to celebrate our heritage and make a resounding statement of unity.

The memories and connections forged at this event will forever remain with me. I urge each reader to embrace their own Jewish pride, to wave their flag unapologetically, and to join us in creating unforgettable moments of celebration, unity, and strength. Together, we can continue to build a vibrant and resilient Jewish community that thrives in the face of any challenge.

I eagerly anticipate the upcoming events, as the positive energy lingers and spreads. Join us as we amplify our Jewish pride, forge lasting connections, and celebrate our shared identity. The success of Sunday’s event is a testament to our collective spirit and the power of coming together as a community. Let us continue to inspire one another, uplift our spirits, and make a resounding impact. Together, we can shape a future where Jewish pride shines brightly, and our voices are heard far and wide.

Mark your calendars and join us for the next event, as we write another chapter in the remarkable journey of our Jewish community. The positive energy is still palpable, and the possibilities are endless. Come be a part of something truly special and experience the profound sense of connection and pride that only our community can provide. See you there!

We do news differently!

Our positioning as a Zionist News Media platform sets us apart from the rest. While other Canadian Jewish media are advocating increasingly biased progressive political and social agendas, TheJ.Ca is providing more and more readers with a welcome alternative and an ideological home.

We revealed the incursion of anti-Israel progressive elements such as IfNotNow into our communities. We have exposed the distorted hateful agenda of the “progressive” left political radicals who brought Linda Sarsour to our cities, and we were first to report on many disturbing incidents of Nazi-based hate towards Jews across Canada.

But we can’t do it alone. We need your HELP!

Our ability to thrive and grow in 2020 and beyond depends on the generosity of committed readers and supporters like you.
