Canada has no need for a wall as three oceans on three of its borders separate it from other countries. So Canadian virtue signalling on this issue makes no sense. If it did need a wall, the government would use the exact same description for it as Israel does. (Screencap: AJ+ YouTube)

As every antisemite knows, Israel has an “apartheid wall”. It is there to maintain the system of apartheid within Israel and to oppress the Palestinians. There are only three problems with this idea. A wall in itself cannot be apartheid, Israel doesn’t have an apartheid system of government, and Israel does not oppress its Palestinian citizens.
Walls have been in existence for a long time. 2000 years ago China had a wall to protect itself from Mongols and other invaders. Hadrian’s wall across England was used to protect England against northern invaders. Walled cities were used to protect themselves against invaders. All these walls were used to protect territory and culture.
That is why cities, cultures, and countries build walls. For a short time the idea of one world was popular, but Russia’s attack on the Ukraine, China’s threatening of Taiwan, Iran’s threat to the rest of the world, and huge refugee immigration, has given the world second thoughts.
Protective walls around countries exist to (1) stop terrorism, (2) stop illegal and unwanted immigration, (3) protect the sovereignty and culture of the country, and (4) stop wars.
Sometimes when a war ended in an artificial peace, as in the wars between North and South Korea, India and Pakistan and the Greeks and Turks in Cyprus, walls would be erected to show the new borderline.
The U.S. wall was built to protect the United States from free immigration and a change of culture by the influx of poor immigrants from South America.
Other than the U.S. and Israel are there other walls in the world? Actually yes. It is a surprise how many protective walls currently exist. As of 2022 there were 74 border walls in the world. 74 border walls and only one continually criticized as an apartheid wall. The most recent walls were Turkey’s wall along its border with Belarus, the U.S. wall along its border with Mexico, Israel’s wall on its border with Gaza, and Turkey’s wall on the Iranian border. In addition eastern Europe has built numerous walls to keep out unwanted immigration.
Canada has no need for a wall as three oceans on three of its borders separate it from other countries. So Canadian virtue signalling on this issue makes no sense.

Today there are 77 major walls in existence with 45 countries planning to build walls to protect their countries. Only the wall built by Israel is called an apartheid wall. Why?
Like every other country Israel’s wall was built to protect it against terrorism, illegal immigration, smuggling and attack. I have been in South Africa during its apartheid regime and in Israel. There is no similarity. South Africa oppressed its Black population. Blacks had no right to vote, no right to work or travel without an identity card (passbook), no right to live wherever they wanted, and no rights to use “white toilets” and other conveniences. By contrast 20% of Israel’s citizens are Muslims who have all the rights and freedoms of Jewish citizens.
There is no apartheid in Israel. In fact most of the surrounding countries have laws against Jews or the entry of Jews into their country and which could therefore be considered to be apartheid regimes.
My conclusion is that those who accuse Israel of being an apartheid state and refer to an apartheid wall, are either ignorant because they believe false Palestinian propaganda circulated by local media as being true, or are simply antisemitic and using the term to denigrate Jews.
It is time for Jews to shout loudly and clearly that the Israeli wall is not an apartheid wall. It is like any other wall, to protect Israel from terrorism, illegal immigration, smuggling, and continued physical attacks by the Palestinians and their supporters.
