On Sunday, June 18, the Winnipeg office of JNF Manitoba and Saskatchewan embarked on a journey across the prairies to the city of Regina, where the community gathered for their very first Breakfast For Israel program. With a core of dedicated volunteers and professionals, the community in Regina, consisting of approximately 100 families, has been actively delivering meaningful programming and events throughout the year.
The breakfast event saw an impressive turnout, with more than 80 people in attendance. Living up to its name, JNF Manitoba and Saskatchewan were thrilled to participate in this inaugural event, establishing a connection between Winnipeg and Saskatchewan.
The program began with David Greaves, Executive Director of JNF Manitoba & Saskatchewan, providing insights into the essence of JNF and assuring the attendees that JNF serves as their link to Israel. Whether it is planting trees, learning about modern-day Israel, planning missions, or supporting important JNF projects, JNF is there to strengthen the connection to Eretz Yisrael.
Following the opening remarks, the community was treated to a delectable Israeli-style kosher breakfast, expertly catered by local favorite, Irina. Throughout the brunch, everyone was entertained by the renowned Winnipeg Klezmer artists, Shayla Fink and Kinzey Posen. The concert, filled with traditional Israeli tunes and beloved old-world Klezmer melodies, captivated the audience, culminating in a wonderful crescendo of “Romania, Romania, Romania…”
The program concluded with a thought-provoking and impactful presentation titled “Antisemitism: Blessing or Curse” by JNF scholar-in-residence, Shelly Faintuch. The audience actively engaged in dialogue, asking questions and participating in the enlightening discussion.
The response to this inaugural Breakfast for Israel program was overwhelming, with the community expressing gratitude for the diverse and engaging program. The event provided a platform for unity and celebration.

The presence of bouncers for the kids added an extra element of enjoyment to the family program, ensuring that attendees of all ages had a memorable experience.
The JNF Manitoba and Saskatchewan Breakfast for Israel program in Regina exemplified the power of community engagement, fostering connections and strengthening ties to Israel. The event left a lasting impact and served as a testament to the dedication and commitment of all involved in making it a meaningful and successful morning.

We revealed the incursion of anti-Israel progressive elements such as IfNotNow into our communities. We have exposed the distorted hateful agenda of the “progressive” left political radicals who brought Linda Sarsour to our cities, and we were first to report on many disturbing incidents of Nazi-based hate towards Jews across Canada.
