As summer approaches, Jewish families are starting to plan their children’s summer activities. For many, this includes sending their kids to one of the 23 Jewish camps that made Newsweek’s list of the 483 best summer camps in the United States. The list includes camps from all the major Jewish denominations and is compiled based on social media reviews and a survey of 15,000 parents. All 483 camps on the list are accredited by the American Camp Association, and an additional 17 camps are currently under review for the list of 500.
Camp Simcha, a division of Chai Lifeline that provides support for children with blood diseases and other severe illnesses, is thrilled to have made the list. According to director Nachman Maimon, “This recognition is a testament to the tireless efforts and unwavering dedication of the entire Simcha team to providing our campers with a unique and unforgettable experience.”
Jewish camps of all denominations were represented on the list. Camp Kalsman, a Reform camp in Arlington, Washington, was included, as was Camp Ramah in California, a Conservative camp, and Camp Chaviva, an Orthodox camp in Ellenville, New York. Nine Jewish Community Center (JCC) camps were also included, spanning from California to New York.
According to Newsweek global editor Nancy Cooper, with so many summer camps to choose from, it can be overwhelming for parents to find the best camp for their children. The Newsweek list is designed to make this process easier for parents by providing a trusted list of top summer camps.
Summer camp is an essential part of many children’s lives, and Jewish summer camps provide a unique experience for Jewish youth. These camps offer opportunities to connect with other Jewish kids, learn about Jewish traditions and culture, and develop lifelong friendships.
For many families, attending a Jewish summer camp is a rite of passage that has been passed down from generation to generation. These camps offer a chance for kids to explore their Jewish identity in a safe and nurturing environment.

Beyond the cultural and religious experiences, summer camp provides an opportunity for children to gain independence and develop important life skills. They learn to make new friends, work in teams, and take responsibility for themselves in a supportive environment.
For Jewish families, summer camp can be an essential part of their children’s Jewish education. Many camps offer programs focused on Jewish learning, allowing kids to deepen their understanding of Jewish history, culture, and values.
Overall, the inclusion of 23 Jewish camps on Newsweek’s list of the best summer camps in the United States is a testament to the important role that Jewish summer camps play in the lives of Jewish families. These camps offer a unique experience that combines cultural and religious learning with fun and adventure, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

We revealed the incursion of anti-Israel progressive elements such as IfNotNow into our communities. We have exposed the distorted hateful agenda of the “progressive” left political radicals who brought Linda Sarsour to our cities, and we were first to report on many disturbing incidents of Nazi-based hate towards Jews across Canada.
But we can’t do it alone. We need your HELP!
