US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin stated “the United States will not allow Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon. Now, Iran’s destabilizing actions are not just a threat to Israel. They are a challenge to the region and to the world.” (Screencap: moneycontrol YouTube)

For over a decade, Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanhayu spearheaded an international effort to counter Iran’s nuclear program. He has tried his level-best to convince the world that Khamaneni’s ambitions pose a grave danger towards Israel and beyond. But the rest of the world apparently doesn’t seem to care about the fallout of a nuclear war.
Even after the would-be nukes are pointed at the epicenter of the holy places for three major religious groups – Judaism, Christianity and Islam – so why should only the Jews worry? Moreover, Greta Thunberg and other environmental and social justice warriors don’t seem to have an ounce of worry that the radiation could destroy the region either.
I myself fled Iran as a child after the Revolution in 1979. The Holocaust is also still fresh in collective Jewish memory. So, I lose sleep when Khamaneni’s sabre-rattling often alludes to destroying the world’s only Jewish state. But, I don’t think this should be Israel or the Jewish people’s concern alone.
A glance at the map of the Levant shows many Muslim countries. Is Khamenei serious about endangering the lives of over three hundred millions of Muslims just to get rid of 7 million Jews? As the effects of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1989 and the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings in 1945 still persist, with radioactive fallout spreading to neighboring nations we know how catastrophic such a strike can be. There will undoubtedly be nothing significant remaining!
The Islamic Republic has armed proxies such as Hezbollah, Houthis and Hamas in the Middle East. Is Iran going to destroy these footholds by dropping such a bomb? Tel Aviv is a stone’s throw away (or a rocket’s trajectory) from the capitals of Syria and Lebanon, two nations allied with the ayatollahs. A nuclear bomb will not discriminate between Jews and Muslims if it hits the ground in Tel Aviv; there are over 1.5 million Arab-Israelis, many who live and work in Tel Aviv itself. And not to forget that the fallout will annihilate just the same, despite the Islamic Republic’s claims of dreams of liberating the Holy Land.
From an economic perspective, Turkey, France, Italy, Greece and more will suffer if the Mediterranean Sea becomes contaminated. A large portion of their economic livelihood depends upon these waters. What about the US’s investments and business ties here? Still, I don’t see any of them losing sleep over the prospect of such an economic calamity, assuming none of their citizens got killed.
I don’t see any environmental activist, animal rights activists or human rights warriors object to the development of nuclear technology that could cause irreversible damage to the environment and loss of wildlife. They have no qualms using Israel and the Jewish people as a buffer or so it seems.
From a religious angle, what many consider to be Islam’s third holiest site, the Al-Aqsa Mosque is in Jerusalem. How can a Shia Muslim cleric dare utter such calls for destruction of the place without any outrage from the Muslim world? Also, Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus and so many sites associated with religious and historic figures common to multiple faiths throughout the land will be destroyed. Yet the Christians, Baha’i, Rastafarians and other Abrahamic faith leaders and followers continue to do nothing.
Turkish President Erdogan and the Saudi Royal family say nothing despite their leadership status in the Muslim world. Perhaps Pope Francis should share the same sentiment, so should the leaders of the Church of England and the Orthodox Christian patriarchs.

It is no secret that Iran’s economy has suffered over the years due to crippling sanctions. The people are getting worse by the day. There are ongoing protests in the streets calling for a regime change in Iran and Khamenei’s only solution is more repression. In thousands of years of history, this is probably the darkest era in the Persian people’s history.
So, my suggestion to Mr. Netanyahu is this: the next time you meet with world leaders, show them a map, tap into their own self-preservation instincts – if they have any. Explain to them that a possible nuclear strike on Israel will affect the rest of the world. Remind them of the historical and religious significance of the region.
Remind Mr. Biden, Trudeau, Macron, Modi and others of the impending danger the world economy faces should Khamenei complete his nuclear program. And with Venezuela and Cuba also being anti-Israel, who knows if they repeat the Cuban mission crisis like we did in 1962.
Maybe Biden should be warned against Iran exporting radioactive contraband to the Caribbean. After all, Cuba is only eighty miles away from Florida. So, the ultimate target could be the US – which has been so complacent all the while under the auspices of the Biden administration.
For once, let Israel and the Jewish world not be the ones to carry the burden all alone. Remind them that if Israel goes, we will all suffer a crisis far worse than what we already face thanks to the global economic woes caused by the Russia-Ukraine War.

We revealed the incursion of anti-Israel progressive elements such as IfNotNow into our communities. We have exposed the distorted hateful agenda of the “progressive” left political radicals who brought Linda Sarsour to our cities, and we were first to report on many disturbing incidents of Nazi-based hate towards Jews across Canada.
