The root of all modern-day evils for the new left is colonialism, and Israel is, they claim, a colonialist power.
Will we sell our souls to claim the moral high ground?

Antisemitic allegations, actions and undercurrents in the House of Commons and beyond (7)
Salma Zahid, Liberal M.P.
Salma Zahid is the Chair of the Canada-Palestinian Parliamentary Friendship Group (C-PPFG) comprising members of all the parties in the House of Commons.
On May 20, 2021 the members of the C-PPFG wrote a letter to the Prime Minister to inform him about the composition and objective of the group and to express their views on the Palestinian – Hamas –Israel conflict.
On May 31, 2021, Andria Spindel, Executive Director of the Canadian Antisemitism Education Foundation (CAEF) wrote to the Prime Minister and to Ministers Marc Garneau and Karina Gould to make the following points:
“…Since the Committee…has demonized and applied a double standard to Israel and is repeating antisemitic tropes, we ask you to dismiss the letter, consider our concerns for truth and integrity, and stand by Canada’s true and democratic ally. The signatories to the letter are putting their name to claims that are without veracity, that are the usual rant against the most humane country in the Middle-East… Since the IHRA definition has been adopted by the Government of Canada, we draw your attention to it and ask that it be applied at all levels, in all committees, at all times, and that it include censuring the committees that lie about Israel and Israelis.”
The Ministers simply ignored CAEF’s submissions. These are the very persons, starting with the Prime Minister who publicly claims that antisemitism has no place in Canada.
November 29- The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. (“IDSPP”).
According to Zahid, November 29 marks two events:
The first is that on this day in 1947, the UN adopted the partition resolution calling for the establishment in Palestine of a Jewish State and an Arab state. Zahid stated: “On this day, we express solidarity with the Palestinian people, who still wait, decades later, for their right to self- determination.”
Never mind, the well-established facts that
a. five Arab armies rejected the U.N resolution; invaded the lands in issue and attacked the Jewish community with the intent to destroy it and with it, the need to make peace with the community;
b. ever since then the Palestinians have invariably refused any and all two-state peace treaty offers made by Israel;
c. Palestinians have always refused to make peace because they seek to get rid of Israel and to extend their territory from “the river to the sea” and
d. as a result, it is the five Arab countries, assuming for sake of argument that they intended to allow the establishment of a Palestinian state-and not Israel, that denied the right to self-determination since 1947.

And again it has been always the Palestinians themselves who denied their multiple opportunities to establish their state starting in 1967.
The second is that the United Nations recognises the 29th of November as the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. Yesterday in Parliament, November 29, 2022
Hence, assuming but not admitting that, Zahid and her group, are truthful and genuinely wish to see the realisation of a two-state solution she ought to remind herself and her group of the true facts; get the Palestinian Authority to admit these facts publicly, and to get on in good faith, to negotiate a peace treaty with Israel.
Alas by now over 70% of the Palestinians openly prefer to carry on fighting and over half of the Israelis after making peace offers that were dismissed out of hand and for which they have been rewarded with terrorism and claims of entitlement to the whole of Israeli territory, do not wish to make peace with the treacherous PA. As a scholar put it, it is either too early or too late to make peace.
On November 29, 2022 the C-PPFG organised a reception on Parliament Hill to mark the IDSPP.
The second is that the United Nations, recognised the 29th of November as the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. Yesterday in Parliament, November 29, 2022.
Another perverse achievement of the UN, the majority of whose members comprise a lynching mob of countries governed by anti-Zionists and antisemites.
The event was attended again by Omar Alghabra Minister of Transportation and Elizabeth May as well as by NDP’s Nikki Ashton, and two other M.Ps from the Conservative and the Bloc respectively.

Nazih Khatatba
Khatatba is the Editor of the Mississauga-based Arabic language weekly newspaper al-Meshwar.
Mr. Khatatba has a long and well- deserved reputation as an antisemite, glorifier of terrorism that engaged in Holocaust denial. Honest Reporting Canada (HRC). The piece also reports that in 2014 Khatatba praised the murder of four rabbis and an Israeli police officer in Jerusalem as a “courageous and qualitative operation.”
Most recently, he praised the heinous nail-bomb murder in Israel of a 16-year old Canadian student Aryeh Schupak as a “quality operation” by Palestinian terrorists and that was not the only case of the kind. Zahid and Khatatba
Khatatba has enjoyed a long acquaintance with Friendship Group chair Salma Zahid. Three years ago, when Zahid came under fire for buying a full-page ad in Khatatba’s newspaper, she promised she’d never again advertise in al-Meshwar.
But a year later, Khatatba was one of 16 attendees in a Zoom meeting Zahid hosted as an introductory planning session following her appointment as the Parliamentary Friendship Group’s chair. Terry Glavin, Trudeau Liberals can’t stop attracting antisemites, National Post, December 7, 2022
Who then invited Khatatba to attend this high profile event?
Needless to say, the news provoked an outcry in Parliament, in the Jewish community and at large.
