Antisemitic allegations, actions and undercurrents in the House of Commons and beyond (5)

On May 13, 2021, in the House of Commons, Elizabeth May asked the following question related to the Gaza War of 2021: “The current crisis was provoked by actions of the Netanyahu government and other extreme elements within the settler groups. Can Canada speak out clearly to defend the Palestinian people, against illegal annexation, illegal settlements and illegal forced evictions?”  CIJA, Yesterday in Parliament, May 14, 2021

This was an antisemitic/anti-Israel question based on a false set of facts and erroneous legal premises hostile to Israel. It did not condemn Hamas which triggered the war and demonstrated complete disregard for the actions of these terrorist groups and of Hamas in particular which indiscriminately fired missiles from Gazan civilian spaces to Israeli civilian spaces while using civilian Gazans as human shields or for that matter the terrorism originating from the P.A.

Mr. Garneau’s reply was a repetition of the combination of his first and second statements in the House made during the Gaza War.

Further, as reported in Part 23, upon his return  from his trip to Israel and the Palestinian Authority, Garneau  once again blamed Israel for its alleged(but not actual) unlawful behaviour in a number of matters which in his opinion created serious obstacles to achieving peace and called on Israel to cease these activities.

Never mind, he must have thought, the terrorist activities financed by the P.A. and its violent political, social, educational and territorial pathologies that insurmountably militates against the adoption of the two-state solution ever since the Palestinian identity was invented.

Never mind, he must have further thought, the incontrovertible facts that

a) the Arab League

i) in 1937 rejected  the recommendations  for a two state solution   proposed by the Peel Commission and, again

ii) in 1947 rejected  the two state solution proposed by the United   Nations which the future State of Israel was prepared to accept;

b) the Palestinians and subsequently the Palestinian Authority

i) in 1967,in the wake of Israel’s victorious Six Day War, refused to negotiate the Israel’s  offer to exchange lands for peace;

ii) in 1993 and since then, honoured in its breach  the peace plan known as the Oslo Accords put forward by Israel that were intended to be the first stage of a process  that would hopefully ultimately lead to the successful negotiation of a peace treaty;

iii) in 2000, refused to accept the Accords of Camp David based on a generous peace proposal offered by Israel;

iv) in 2007, refused yet another generous peace proposal, and

v) needless to say summarily rejected the Trump plan.

The well documented incontrovertible fact of the matter is that Palestinians and the Palestinian Authority never intended to make peace. Their sole objective has always been to destroy the State of Israel while Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) in Gaza are aiming to achieve the same result in their own way.

The equally incontrovertible fact is that all events even if the P.A. agreed to negotiate a two-state solution Hamas and the PIJ would see to it that such agreement lead nowhere except to their take-over of the P.A since  a large majority of the Palestinians in the P.A. favour to carry on  with the ongoing fight against Israel.

Yet instead of calling the riot act on the P.A and incapacitating the two terrorist groups in Gaza, Garneau kept blaming Israel for impeding the two- state solution on grounds that have no basis in fact or in law.

If there is an anti-Zionist and/or an antisemite based on the IHRA definition of antisemitism, Mr. Garneau was your man.

And if he was/is not, his discourse and actions on the subject provided legitimacy to the pronouncements and justification for the actions of the anti-Zionists and antisemites of Canada.

In August 2021, Monsef, referred to the Taliban as “our [cultural] brothers” during a virtual press conference.  She then proceeded to put on a good show by issuing “orders” to Taliban. Ms. Monsef was defeated in the 2021 federal general election.

Omar Alghabra, Minister of Transportation

Minister Omar Alghabra’s career both before and after entering Parliamentary politics with the Liberal Party has been controversial as illustrated by the following materials: -TSEC Network (Terrorism and Security Experts of Canada)  Sharia Law Supporter Omar Alghabra is the new Parliamentary Secretary for Foreign Affairs, December 3, 2015;

Among other things, Alghabra campaigned for the establishment of the Sharia Law in Ontario and advocated for Canada to bring in five million Palestinians.

On December 4, 2019 B’nai Brith published a news report under the title Violence Promoted to Children at Mississauga Solidarity Event.

According to the report, a recent Palestinians event in Mississauga featured children dancing to songs glorifying violence.

The two-day event was hosted by the Arab Palestine Association of Ontario (APAO) for the “International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People” (“IDSPP”).

The guests for the second day of the event featured guests Elizabeth May, head of the Green Party and Omar Alghabra – who was about to be appointed to the foregoing positions.

  • For the show, the organizers uploaded a video of children performing Palestinian dances. One song called on the audience to replace “our bracelets with weapons” and “pull the trigger” to combat the “despicable one.”
  • The next one described a group gathering for jihad urging the “commandos” to make use of their rifles.
  • This in turn was followed by a number juxtaposing a mother’s celebration of her son’s wedding with her celebration of his martyrdom.
  • On a later date, APAO shared a video proclaiming “the Israeli Zionists are Nazis”.

In the light of the Prime Minister’s repetitious statements that Canada is Israel’s best friend, what is one to make of the attendance of a member of his government at this event?

On the other hand, Elizabeth May is reported to have addressed the audience to distinguish between the nice Canadian Jews and the Israelis.
