”The Liberal government’s reluctance to demand better of the United Nations is unacceptable” said then-MP Peter Kent in 2017. Citing “funding terror incitement in UNRWA schools”, he asked in the House of Commons, “Is there no end to the Prime Minister‘s willingness to pander to rights abusers in his indecent pursuit of a Security Council seat?

The relationship with Israel (cont’d)

2016 and ongoing – It is an incontrovertible fact that UNRWA is under the thumb of Hamas and functions in accordance with its perfidious wishes and demands and some of those of the government of the Palestinian Authority.

Yet, shortly after coming to power, Trudeau announced with great fanfare that   his government would reinstate Canada’s contribution to UNRWA’s educational program canceled by the Harper government on the grounds that the organisation is not a neutral one and its educational program did not comply with the requirements of UNESCO.

For example, among other things, the school materials teach the pupils to hate Israel and Jews and other related poisonous material such as urging Palestinian students to take up the “hobby” of killing Israelis, while Grade 7 science book discusses the use of slingshots against IDF soldiers in a lesson about the Second Law of Physics.

Despite the incontrovertible evidence generated by various studies, Canada continues to contribute to the financing of the educational system. I addressed this matter in four articles published by TheJ.Ca from May 26, 2021 to April 27, 2022 inclusive.  https://www.thej.ca/author/dogan-akman/

In the meantime, neither CBC nor the mainstream media bothered to report and comment on these facts.

This is the one and  the same government which in 2021 attended the Malmo International Forum on Holocaust Remembrance and Combatting Antisemitism Forum which Trudeau addressed, where Canada signed the United Nations Human Rights statement of antisemitism initially signed by 43 countries, and committed itself to some 10 somewhat overlapping pledges

i. the first of which reads: We pledge to combat antisemitism, Holocaust denial and distortion, hate crimes and all other forms of racism and to protect at-risk communities, and

ii. a number of them focus on, inter-alia, the adoption, use and promotion, of the non-legally binding IHR definition of antisemitism, which Canada adopted both for foreign policy (2009) and for the domestic one (2019).

Yet like the hypocritical E.U. and its member countries, Canada carries on financing the UNRWA educational system that uses school materials that are violently antisemitic and anti-Israeli. LPHINFO, Les manuels scolaires  palestiniens de plus en plus extrémistes, Septembre 7,2022

Speaking of Trudeau’s wish to assist Gazans, ironically enough, on June 22, 2021 Garnett Genius (CPC) rose in the House of Commons to ask the Minister of International Development the following question:

“Mr. Speaker on August 3, 2014, the Prime Minister publicly committed that he would support a humanitarian initiative led by Dr. Izzaeldin Abuelaish named Heal100Kids, to get 100 Palestinian children from Gaza to Canada for medical treatment. Since then the Liberal government has ignored repeated requests for follow-up and help…When will the government stop ignoring Dr. Abuelaish’s request and follow through on the Prime Minister’s own commitment to provide these children with the  assistance they need.”

The question the government would not answer

On May 1, 2017, in the House of Common, Hon. Peter Kent, and (CPC)

Mr. Speaker, the Liberal government’s reluctance to demand better of the United Nations is unacceptable. Whether funding terror incitement in UNRWA schools, concealing votes for human rights abusers to the Human Rights Council, ignoring the antisemitic denial of Jerusalem’s history by UNESCO, or now downplaying the election of Saudi Arabia to the status of women, all of this makes Canada complicit in the UN’s dysfunction. Is there no end to the Prime Minister‘s willingness to pander to rights abusers in his indecent pursuit of a Security Council seat?

The reply did not respond to the substance of the question.

The environmental war of Hamas

Hamas’  warfare against Israel is not merely focused on the IDF which it has a hard time to contend with. The warfare is also an environmental one. Hence, Hamas has

a. used rockets which contain toxic ingredients and pollutants for marine environments;

b. burned tires whose thick smoke emits among other pollutants toxic gas particularly for human beings;

c. used incendiary balloons  to  set on fire  forests and farmlands in southern Israel; which fires in turn pollute the air, water and the soil and greenhouse gases;

d. caused bacteriological pollution  of the Mediterranean as a result of the stoppage of the water purification plants due to lack of electricity thus forcing the closure of many beaches in southern Israel; and

dumped oil in the economically productive waters of Israel and this pollution impacts adversely and directly on marine fauna and flora.

Canada did not take Hamas to task for its environmental terrorism and condemned its actions even when its incendiary balloons were directed towards areas inhabited or frequented by civilians.

Retired Thornhill MP Peter Kent was an ardent critic of the Trudeau government handling of antisemitism and anti-Zionism at the United Nations. (Screencap: Twitter)

The relocation of the U.S. embassy from Tel-Aviv to Jerusalem

In 2018, Canada along with two European states boycotted the dedication and celebration of the U.S. embassy’s relocation from Tel-Aviv to Israel’s capital Jerusalem while some 33 ambassadors and dignitaries participated in the celebration. Trudeau refuses to relocate the Canadian embassy.

I wonder how Canada would react if foreign governments were to install their respective embassies  in Montreal or Toronto  instead of Ottawa, on the ground that the City is sitting on lands with respect to which the Algonquin claim to possess unextinguished aboriginal title?

In any event, if the Algonquin people do have a subsisting claim, no matter how weak, it is certainly a better one than the Palestinians who never did and do not have any valid territorial claim to any part of Jerusalem. (to be cont’d)

Our positioning as a Zionist News Media platform sets us apart from the rest. While other Canadian Jewish media are advocating increasingly biased progressive political and social agendas, TheJ.Ca is providing more and more readers with a welcome alternative and an ideological home.

We revealed the incursion of anti-Israel progressive elements such as IfNotNow into our communities. We have exposed the distorted hateful agenda of the “progressive” left political radicals who brought Linda Sarsour to our cities, and we were first to report on many disturbing incidents of Nazi-based hate towards Jews across Canada.
