Is Hussen’s Solution To Marouf Scandal A Poison Pill?

Liberal cure will entrench the people who funded the ‘anti-racist’ antisemite

On August 22, Hillel Neuer of UN Watch hit the nail on the head- the Diversity Dept. funding of Laith Marouf was evidence of rot all the way to Justin Trudeau’s cabinet. Their proposed actions do nothing to address that problem. (Image: Twitter)

Late Monday afternoon, B’nai Brith Canada announced that their lobbying efforts resulted in what I believe is a strategic diversion by the Liberal government to cover-up the real issue with the Laith Marouf scandal

This is not to say B’nai Brith agreed to this decoy, but rather that Justin Trudeau and his ministers think they can fool all of the Jews, all of the time.

They can’t. I hope they can’t fool B’nai Brith, but I know they will not fool grassroots Zionists or TheJ.ca.

“The Government of Canada has followed up on its recent meeting with B’nai Brith Canada, with a new and robust promise of measures to prevent federal funds from ever again flowing to organizations that promote hatred of Jews and other minorities,” announced  the organization, publishing a letter sent by Diversity Minister Ahmed Hussen and cc’d to Pablo Rodriguez, who has ducked all interviews as Minister of Canadian Heritage after his funding of Marouf’s company unleashed an embarrassing scandal

Hussen told BB: “The antisemitic, hateful and xenophobic comments made by Laith Marouf are vile and reprehensible, and our government condemns them in the strongest possible terms.”

A meeting was held between Hursh Jaswal, the Chief of Staff for Housing and Diversity Minister, Minister Hussen and Marvin Rotrand, B’nai Brith Canada’s National Director for its League for Human Rights. Here’s details from the B’nai Brith Press release:

“At the meeting, B’nai Brith demanded a complete revamp of the anti-racist programs funded through Heritage Canada, a new and more stringent vetting process and an independent review of the systemic problems that allowed Marouf and CMAC to obtain grants.”

“We are particularly reassured by the Minister accepting our demand that the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s working definition of antisemitism become the lens through which to assess anti-racist work,” said Michael Mostyn, B’nai Brith Canada’s CEO.

Mostyn continued, “The demonization and delegitimization of Israel is today’s main driver of global antisemitism. The Minister has promised no federal funding for those who spread hate in this way.”

That all sounds great, and it is to Mostyn’s credit that the work of BB has forced Hussen to commit to the IHRA standard. But it’s wrapped inside of what looks like a cover-up.

I am not going to bore readers with the full extent of the word salads that Hussen offered up in his letter. But it’s easy to identify the red flags:

“The fact that Marouf and his organization – the Community Media Advocacy Centre (CMAC) – received federal dollars in the first place, was a mistake and should never have happened.”

That’s the big con, that this was a ‘mistake’.  It wasn’t.

Hussen also wrote, “The fact that the funding was allowed to flow to this organization in the first place is a slap in the face to the Jewish community, the francophone community, and many other groups that he has continuously attacked with his hateful comments, and for that, I sincerely apologize.”

Some apology. Those ‘many other groups’ included Black and Indigenous Canadians. Clearly the Department of Diversity deliberately did not mention that Blacks or FNs were targeted by Marouf, who was paid by the government with their taxes. Why would that be?

There are more red flags in Hussen’s proposed actions moving forward:

Introduce enhanced vetting training for all program officers

We at TheJ.ca ask, who is vetting the damn program officers? Apparently, no one did AND NO ONE WILL.

To be blunt, if it wasn’t for people who shared Marouf’s view and promoted him as a viable reasonable ‘anti-racist’ trainer, we wouldn’t be here. Instead the government proposes to make all sorts of HR consultants rich with our tax dollars, without solving the problem.

Also planned:Enhanced diversity and inclusion training for all programs officers” and  Implement conditions in all funding agreements that would allow the federal government to take immediate action, should any organization or individual be identified as having promoted or shared hate, racism and discrimination in any form.

Sounds great, if you’re a sucker for woke-speak. But since we aren’t, we had it checked against Jewish reality.

Why the promises made to B’nai B’rith Canada by the federal government reek of a cover-up: none of it addresses who in Heritage was intimidated into staying silent as Laith Marouf was paid to spread his vile views, and who were they afraid of. (Image: Twitter)

Here’s how one of our most trusted analysts sees it:

  • This will be a double edged sword. The Palestinians and their supporters never fail to twist well-meaning endeavours or peace offerings into weapons to aim at Jews and Israel. Keep in mind events like the insanity of “silence is violence”, the crime of misgendering even by accident, support of Israeli defence compared to supporting genocide and being called racist by labeling bona fide terrorist organizations as terrorists. These measures will ultimately be twisted into violations of these new rules.”
  • “No matter what the talking heads tell you, Diversity and Inclusion is Marxist framework. The information does not foster diversity of opinion, excludes by race and perceived “privilege”. It is parasitic Critical Race Theory, that’s akin to a Judo move, which uses the best parts of our society against us. Equate it to these government bills we hear of that have warm and fuzzy sounding names but contain all sorts of unrelated and often counterproductive programs”
  • “BDS is full of Marxists and Marxist tactics. The training they will all receive will lead to anti-Israel and anti-Jewish sentiment, as it already has in our universities across North America. It’s based on the racial/gender/class victimhood pyramid, which paints Jews as white colonial oppressors. Which is just an updated term to describe the bourgeoisie – and remember what happened to them.”

After reading what has been uncovered about the public remarks about the Canadian way of life, about Jews and Zionists and Israeli ‘apartheid’, about black and aboriginal people and the military, does any rational adult believe no one in the Heritage Department knew who broadcasting trainer Laith Marouf really was? Jewish leadership has to demand they be identified and held to account. (Photo: File)

Its already infected the universities and colleges to the point you can’t be a visible Jew at many of them without being harrassed, now we are going to prescribe the poison of DEI and CRT as a cure to rid the Canadian government of antisemitism?

Whose agenda is that? It’s a question that needs to be answered. How does adopting IHRA counter that? B’nai Brith should make sure it does.

If it doesn’t, then they should continue to lead on this file – and good on ’em for doing so – and ensure the “training programs” are themselves vetted.

Do not take Hussen’s word for it that these self-improvement “training” courses are the path to keeping the Maroufs of this country away from the public trough.

Hussen also said this: “In this day and age, with social media being at our fingertips, it should be a given that any such hatred, discrimination, and racism simply cannot go unchecked.” Therefore, the best thing Mostyn and B’nai Brith can do is ask Hussen and Rodriguez if this edict is also applicable to the people in the departments and in their own offices.

Will the people who had anything to do with Marouf’s funding being approved – and the 8 day stall after the scandal broke before it was suspended – be put under the microscope?

Let us know what the answer is.
