In short, the Trudeau government handed money to (Heritage Dept.) responsible for promoting peace and harmony among different races and was looking for support from Liath Marouf, a bigot himself. His views and ideas are now publicly known. Marouf’s lawyer tried protecting him by saying that the tweet refers to “Jewish white supremacists”. What a bozo. Jewish white supremacists are as real as peaceful Islamists: Both of them DO NOT EXIST.” (Caption and Photo: tfiglobalnews.com)

The spinning of the Liberals in Ottawa slowed in favour of the silent treatment last week, as more and more Canadians- not just the Jews – demand an explanation of how Laith Marouf ended up getting cheques from the Trudeau government to influence future media coverage in Canada of – well, everything – by training them on imposing an ‘anti-racism’ lens to their stories. Or as the modern twist on news reporting calls what newsrooms do, “storytelling”.

When Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland finally tweeted on September 1 about the antisemitism-soaked scandal, she left out important facts in claiming she stood against funding organizations such as Marouf’s. To start with, she didn’t mention Marouf. Former Ambassador to Israel Vivian Bercovici threw it in her face:

“Well. This certainly took a long time. Wasn’t due to wordsmithing, cuz that’s dictated by PMO. So, @cafreeland . What gives? Why has it taken you 3 weeks to react? Why do you not mention Laith Marouf? You are no shrinking violet. The reticence is peculiar.”

Darshan Maharaja replied, “Every one of them is skirting around the question as to how this contract was awarded to a known anti-Semite & racist. Unfortunately, we don’t have any journalist who can persist in asking them about this.” Bercovici however didn’t quite concur: “No questions need be asked. We have enough info to draw conclusions. The time for questions is long past.”

Speaking of questions, even when Liberal MP Anthony Housefather tried to demonstrate he was actually way ahead of the Marouf scandal, it didn’t quite get him, and especially not the Minister, in the clear.

Housefather first tweeted of how he approached Hussen when Twitter it up with Marouf’s vile racist posts. He mostly said that while it took 8 days, he was pleased the funding was suspended.  Housefather didn’t mention the part from back on July 19 where “the Minister will look into it and get back to me”, as he wrote Mark Goldberg that day. Rex Murphy inquired in the National Post:

Anthony Housefather is getting credit for bringing Marouf’s history to the attention of various cabinet ministers, particularly Diversity Minister Ahmed Hussen. Good for you, Mr. Housefather.

“But you have not told us what they said when you did. What was their reply to your alarm? What did they do? Did you speak to the Prime Minister’s Office, and if you did not, why not? Why did you not go public when you first witnessed this travesty? Half-virtue is no-virtue.”

Meanwhile, Professor Michael Geist honed in on the Heritage Minister:

“This shouldn’t be hard: accept responsibility, cut funding, investigate, and provide a united vocal front against anti-semitism. Yet 2/3 of cabinet still has said nothing and @pablorodriguez hasn’t publicly released his statement despite requests for it.”

On  September 2 Geist detailed how Rodriguez had many fellow cabinet members with him under the cone of silence. He published a list of who had commented, and the shocking number – 2/3rds  –who hadn’t.

The Ottawa media has been stonewalled by Justin Trudeau’s Heritage Minister. Pablo Rodriguez is responsible for legitimizing a foul-mouthed Jew-hating consultant as an expert on “anti-racism” training for Canadian Media. “Why the silence @pablorodriguez?” asked Vivian Bercovici. (Image: Twitter)

Here is the list Geist compiled:

“The cabinet ministers with tweets or retweets are”:

  •         Ahmed Hussen (August 22)
  •         Marco Mendicino (August 22) – RT Hussen
  •         Marc Miller (August 29) (and RT Hussen)
  •         Carla Qualtrough (August 30)
  •         Seamus O’Regan (August 30)
  •         David Lametti (August 31)
  •         Ginette Petitpas Taylor (August 31) – RT Saks
  •         Bill Blair (August 31)
  •         Carolyn Bennett (August 31)
  •         Chrystia Freeland (Sept 1)
  •         Jonathan Wilkinson (Sept 1) – RT Freeland

“I’d be happy to correct, but my review indicates that leaves two-thirds of the cabinet in silence”:

  •         Lawrence MacAulay
  •         Dominic LeBlanc
  •         Jean-Yves Duclos
  •         Marie-Claude Bibeau
  •         Melanie Joly
  •         Diane Lebouthillier
  •         Harjit Sajjan
  •         Patty Hadju
  •         FP Champagne
  •         Karina Gould
  •         Mary Ng
  •         Filomena Tassi
  •         Joyce Murray
  •         Anita Anand
  •         Mona Fortier

Geist has also been instrumental in circulating a petition for a public inquiry “as to who in the government knew about the consultant’s history of racism and hatred, and why they failed to act promptly and decisively”. Seen exchanging views of the Marouf scandal cover-up with Vivian Bercovici in this screencap is ‘Vishni Gupt’, the insightful Darshan Maharaja. He is a blogger & podcaster., currently locked out of his first Twitter account @TheophanesRex. (Image: Twitter)

Surveying the unprecedented scene on Parliament Hill, Maharaja explained why Geist’s discovery about the Trudeau’s cabinet was no accident:

As the CMAC / Laith Marouf controversy rolls on, the milquetoast statements from assorted members of the Liberal caucus, coupled with the foot-shuffling by Ministers Hussen and Rodriguez, give off a distinct sense that their strategy is to ride out the storm of criticism so they can go back to business as usual.”

As he surmised – and this would be what the Trudeau government is now struggling to cover-up, “When a government is fanatically ideological, it is only natural that it would be penetrated by an assortment of nefarious elements. The sorry chapter of CMAC / Laith Marouf is merely a symptom of a deeper problem… My view in this CMAC / Marouf affair is that it is not an aberration, but rather, it was inevitable, given the characteristics of this government which were in full view even before it came into office.”

“…And as we know all to well, Jews are at the top of the list of people / groups who are deemed as a group that ‘had it coming’ – and this isn’t new, unfortunately. What is worse is that instead of getting a grip on the problem to reduce (and hopefully eliminate) its occurrence, the current environment is actually set up to exacerbate it.”

He proceeded to plainly lay-out the ugly truth about the Trudeau government’s administration:

I consider it likely that the statements by Laith Marouf over the years (and perhaps decades) were perfectly known within the State apparatus (both the political as well as the operational sides) and were not regarded as objectionable within that apparatus. The public servants who had any reservations (assuming there were any) would have held back and kept mum so as not to harm their career prospects. It was only when a pandemonium broke loose over these statements among the general public that any idea of backtracking occurred to them.”

After the Deputy Prime Minister slyly avoided mentioning Laith Marouf while pretending address the scandal , Jonathan Kay commented: “Great to see The Liberal Party of Canada suddenly become so impassioned about denouncing Liberal Party of Canada-financed antisemitism. What would we Jews do without the Liberal Party of Canada?” (Screencap: Twitter)

In a tweet to Mark Goldberg and the National Post, Bercovici substantiated that assessment.

“I might add, based on my direct experience….its enabling of systemic anti semitism that is deeply entrenched in many Departments, among them @GAC_Corporate

(Israel flag) ….aka Zionists….aka Jews…a very dirty word in some places in Ottawa

Much more to this than Laith”

As I said in the previous article, this is what the Jews of Canada are up against.

(Next week an assessment of the actions from the ‘organized Jewish community leadership’.)
