For the last couple of years, I have been writing a book about Ayoob Kara, who served as Israel’s Communication, Cyber and Satellite Minister under Netanyahu. Today, I finished writing the book and I am in the process of editing and publishing it. The book is titled, “Ayoob Kara: The Man Behind the Abraham Accords.”

In the first two chapters of the book, I lay out Ayoob Kara’s distinguished biography. After that, the book discusses Ayoob Kara’s perception of the Iranian threat, the Arab Spring disaster and Dr. Mordechai Kedar’s Palestinian Emirate Solution.

In the conclusion of the book, Ayoob Kara laid out his vision for the Middle East, which is particularly relevant in light of the Likud Primaries that are coming out.

The following is essentially his campaign platform: “My vision is to keep the Israeli state strong technologically, militarily, economically, etc. because there is no way to exist if you are not like that. The other thing is to cooperate with all of the states in the region in all of the areas. If Israel is strong, they need Israel in the Middle East and this will lead to more agreements. In the Middle East, there is no place for losers without power.”

However, he noted that Israel is a country with peaceful intentions: “Our goal is to defend, not to occupy.”

According to Kara, “We need for the citizens of Israel to live legitimately in their state. For this, we use our power to defend ourselves, not to occupy like Iran. This gives an opportunity for all of the states to need us. My goal is to be in the government again to bring more countries into the Abraham Accords. I was successful in this in the past and I believe I can in the future. My Arabic language helps Netanyahu to continue the same process that we already started together.”

Regarding the Palestinians, Kara is opposed to granting them statehood: “If it happens, a Palestinian state will be another Gaza. Because of that, I do not agree for them to have a state, so they will attack Israel in the center and north like they have in the south. For this reason, there is no reason to give them a state anywhere from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea.”

However, he does support Dr. Mordechai Kedar’s Palestinian Emirate Solution: “The one thing that could work is to make eight emirates, one in Gaza and seven in Judea and Samaria. Local leaders will become emirs and they will have autonomy, but be part of Jordan, not Israel. Jordan is 90% Palestinian, so they should absorb them. Jordan is the Palestinian state and if these emirates could use the model of UAE, we could support them economically.”

Kara believes that under his vision, “They will have special status from Jordan and that could be recognized by the UN and everyone.  But for defense and security, Israel will control the area, while their civil rights will be obtained from Jordan and they will have autonomy as emirates. Everyone can do whatever they want economically in the emirates, but for security, only Israel can control Judea and Samaria. The security of Judea and Samaria will forever be in the hands of Israel.”

Kara also made very direct comments about Iran.

“The Iranian regime must understand that Israel, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and all of the countries in the area have the power to destroy them. They must give up on their dream of world domination. So, Israel and the Arab areas must stop Iran, who all the time uses their power against all of the states in the area. Israel and the Arab areas must put an abrupt end to this extremism and Shia occupation. I am sure that together, we can stop the Iranians.” However, Kara is skeptical that Iran will ever give up their nuclear program: “One day, they will start war against Israel and all of the Middle East.”

“The regime in Iran does not care about anything,” he noted. “The one thing that gives them motivation is that they believe the world must be Shia. The Persians believe that Allah sent them here to occupy the world. So all of the minorities, both religious and ethnic, inside of Iran must be part of the Persian Empire. The Iranians give support to everyone who converts to Shiism and they have a special system for that in Syria, Lebanon, and even Africa.”

Kara believes that the free world has a duty to stop the Shia Crescent and to help the Iranian people obtain freedom: “I think that all of the minorities inside Iran must shake hands and cooperate together against the mullahs to destroy the regime, and the world must support these minorities. We should do everything to stop the Iranian regime including supporting the independence movements of many of the minorities in Iran for the number one danger now is Iran.” Thus, there should be a free Ahwaz nation, a free Baluchistan, a free South Azerbaijan, etc.

According to Kara, “Another way to stop Iran is to create an alliance of Turkic states. They know that the extremism in Iran is bad for them. They know that Iran wants to occupy Turkic areas if they could. The Iranians merely are waiting for an opportunity. One of the ways to stop the Iranians is if all of the Turkic states cooperate with the Turkish government together with Israel, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, etc.  That would make the Iranians think very carefully about taking any steps against them.”

Nevertheless, Kara believes that the greatest danger facing Israel today is not the Iranian threat but rather crime in the Arab sector.

“The crime in the Arab area has become a danger because in the South, it is more but the same thing is developing in the Center and North of Israel,” he stated. “The crime has become very difficult for the state to control.  It becomes harder to cope with every day in Israel.”

According to Kara, “This is something that must change. We could change it if we do a reform in the justice system. If we do a reform, change the law, and give a chance to expel the crime families, this is the way to stop it.  If we continue to think that democracy is more important than law and order, we will become like Lebanon. We won’t have security. We won’t have a positive economy either.”

In conclusion, Kara proclaimed: “I think that the next government has to control the crime in the Arab areas. We have to build a new system for that and if we don’t find a solution for that, that is more dangerous than fighting in Lebanon and Gaza. This is because during Operation Guardian of the Walls, the Arabs tried to destroy Israel from within.”

As British author Taylor Caldwell once wrote, “A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.”

“For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men,” Caldwell stressed.  “He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.”
