Ross Advocates Allowing Hamas Leadership to Leave Gaza in Exchange for Remaining Hostages
The “March for Israel” in Washington, D.C., was a great response to pro-Hamas mobs. But ending the source of a rising tide of Jew-hatred requires opposing the woke ideology that created it.

The traditional Christmas mass and prayers will still take place, but without Christmas trees or festive lights.
The root of all modern-day evils for the new left is colonialism, and Israel is, they claim, a colonialist power.
Will we sell our souls to claim the moral high ground?
“This is in fact the actualization of a globalized intifada through violence,” said the president of Federation CJA of the sharp spike in antisemitism since Oct. 7.
“We knew there was an urgent need to replace ambulances that were stolen and destroyed. To know ours is part of this historic effort is incredibly gratifying,” said Pastor Larry Huch.

Garneau’s subsequent comments and replies to questions in the House of Commons
In the give and take of the House of Commons, something new entered the comments and replies of Marc Garneau.
Then Minister of Foreign Affairs, Garneau – as well as the Prime Minister – started to make statements to the effect that antisemitism has no place in Canada, condemning it with an interesting twist by coupling antisemitism with Islamophobia.
What Islamophobia had to do with antisemitism in the context of the Gaza war was and still is hard to figure out.
During the continuing antisemitic riots and violence Trudeau made two official short statements.
The first dated May 16, 2021 stated: “Everyone has the right to assemble peacefully and express themselves freely in Canada- but we cannot and will not tolerate antisemitism, Islamophobia, or hate of any kind. We strongly condemn the despicable rhetoric and violence we saw on display in some protests this week-end.”
Once again, the rhetoric and violence was antisemitic. It was definitely not Islamophobic or hate of any other kind.
The second dated May 19 stated: “I am deeply disturbed by recent reports of antisemitic acts in Montreal and across the country. This intimidation and violence is absolutely unacceptable- it must stop immediately. There is no place for of any kind in Canada.”
Long last, he finally admitted that there was nothing Islamophobic about the disturbing facts and reports about antisemitism.
Well, the Jewish organisations desperately pleaded for full enforcement of the law in vain. The need was particularly pressing in Toronto where the city’s Police Department failed to discharge its duties in accordance with existing policy.
More specifically, the Toronto Police Department failed to comply with the policy of the City of Toronto which provides that “Public space, facilities and properties within the jurisdiction of the City of Toronto will not be available or accessible to any individual or group that promotes views and ideas which are likely to promote discrimination, contempt or hatred for any person or group on the basis of race, citizenship, ancestry or legion, among other grounds”.
To B’nai Brith’s knowledge, this policy has never been carried out against antisemitic demonstrations in Toronto. Nor was the policy enforced for the massive protests that occurred for three weeks in a row in May and the week earlier, in downtown Toronto.
During the May 15, 2021 protest, an event organised by the Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM), an openly pro-terrorism movement, Jewish counter-protestors were beaten and harassed.
Again the policy was not enforced in September 2021 when the same movement organised yet another mass demonstration in downtown Toronto during which among other anti- Israeli slogans, protesters also chanted for Israel’s complete destruction and the expulsion- or worse- of its Jewish population. One of the speakers at the event was Issam al-Yamani, a former member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terror group who faced deportation.
B’nai Brith strongly condemned this ongoing failure to prevent or impose sanctions on hateful rallies targeting Israeli Jews. (Elad Benari, Toronto protesters call for violence against Jews, Arutz Sheva 7, 8/9/2021)

Lack of courage
During all this time, Trudeau did not have the moral/political courage to face the nation in person to condemn the thugs that were perpetrating antisemitic crimes and to publicly demand the provincial governments to take all the necessary measures to put an end to this shameful state of national affairs.
And failing that, Trudeau could have publicly undertaken to marshal the RCMP and/or the military police to help the Toronto Police department as well other local and regional ones facing similar problems.
When push comes to shove, so much for the Prime Minister’s slogan of “diversity, equity and inclusion”.
I suggest that, where diversity is not self-evidently based on common goals and equity and inclusion serves political calculus , it would be by far preferable to drop the slogan and instead to pursue “diversity with common goals for each and all”: i.e. trustworthiness, honesty, respect compassion, fair, caring and engagement.
