Only one thing remains - and that is to attack with the truth

Last May Russian and Sephardic Jews were among the grassroots Zionist activists in Winnipeg who were violently attacked after a Hamas-supporting mob charged police lines; to this day the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg has never offered aid or comfort to the victims. (Photo: Shadoe Davis)

Canadians and Americans have gone from a period of antisemitism before WW2, to almost complete acceptance of Jews in 1948, the year Israel became a state and successfully defended itself against 5 invading Arab neighbouring states.

However, since its successful defensive war of 1967, Israel began to be looked at as Goliath instead of David, and with clever repetitive negative propaganda, antisemitism has been returned to Western shores.

Since 1967, Palestinians in their many forms have carried out both increasingly vicious wars against Israel, and bomb and knife attacks against civilian Jews on Israeli streets and in Israeli buses and restaurants. At the same time, the related antisemitism in the Western press, in western schools and universities, in the media and in political opinions and actions has greatly increased.

As Palestinian antisemites and their supporters have increased their anti-Israel propaganda, Western Jews have mostly remained quiet.

Israel has attempted, unsuccessfully, to gain peace by placating anti-Semites, winning unrelenting small wars, and offering its land to its enemies. The Palestinian governments have reacted to this good faith in bad faith and continued to attack Israelis and vilify Israel and Israelis.

At the same time the Palestinians have reversed the meaning of words:

  • “A Truce” now means a temporary peace, while building strength for a renewed attack.
  • “War” means another attempted pogrom to kill all  Israeli Jews indiscriminately and destroy Israel.
  • “Oppressed” describes the position of any minority group, no matter how equally they have been treated by the majority,
  • “Apartheid” is completely meaningless, although emotionally effective, when applied to Israel.

BDS and its supporters, with the help of the media have convinced much of the population that Israel is an apartheid state, that it oppresses its Muslim population, and that its territory is occupied territory that it holds despite international law. All this is simply not true.

Meanwhile, the leaders of Gaza and the West Bank are oppressing their people, blaming it on Israeli intransigence, and teaching the next generation to hate Jews.

How have North American Jews reacted to all of the above?

Mostly they and their leaders have remained judicially quiet and said and done nothing. Their leadership has pleaded with the secular political leaders, and to a lesser extent with the populace, to remember the Holocaust (which no one wants to do) or to pass laws against antisemitism (which are not enforced).

Our major Jewish organizations have pleaded with the powers that be to be nice to Jews, because then Jews will vote for them, but that has not been a successful strategy. Our minor Jewish organizations have had minor successes but not enough to change the growing antisemitism in the minds of politicians’, their subservient media, or the public.

What should Jews do now that all their clever chatter has failed? Only one thing remains – and that is to attack with the truth.

It is time that we told the world and our neighbours that Israel is not an apartheid state; but any country which oppresses its minority, including its Jews, should be considered to be  equivalent to an apartheid state; that women are second class citizens in Gaza and areas controlled by Hamas and the Palestinian Authority; that gays and lesbians are persecuted and often killed in Muslim states and that honour killings are not punished and often applauded in Muslim states and the Palestinian territories.

In addition it should be noted that many Palestinians have limited rights in the surrounding states, citizenship is withheld from them and many still live in refugee camps. Furthermore, Jordan, not Israel, is really the home of the Palestinians, and the majority of Jordanians are “Palestinians.”

Once a correct picture of the life of the Palestinians is drawn, Jews and Judaism and Israel will look much more appealing.

Lastly it should be pointed out that both Hamas and the P.A. run corrupt governments that suppress their own people and encourage warfare against Israel.  Israeli Arabs are free-er, happier and safer in Israel than they are under their current governments.

It is time to tell the truth about Palestinian society and its lack of ability to run any type of Government, let alone an honest, efficient, and democratic one.

We do news differently!

Our positioning as a Zionist News Media platform sets us apart from the rest. While other Canadian Jewish media are advocating increasingly biased progressive political and social agendas, TheJ.Ca is providing more and more readers with a welcome alternative and an ideological home.

We revealed the incursion of anti-Israel progressive elements such as IfNotNow into our communities. We have exposed the distorted hateful agenda of the “progressive” left political radicals who brought Linda Sarsour to our cities, and we were first to report on many disturbing incidents of Nazi-based hate towards Jews across Canada.

But we can’t do it alone. We need your HELP!
