At least 60 people have been killed in an ISIS terror attack outside the Kabul Airport. According to various media reports, there were two explosions around the airport and as many as 13 American Marines and Navy servicemen were also killed in the terror attack. Today’s twin terror attack occurred after several countries had warned that the Kabul Airport could become a target for terrorists following America’s withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Amid all of this, Politico reported that the US House of Representatives is set to introduce a resolution castigating US President Joe Biden over America’s withdrawal from Afghanistan. If passed, the measure would condemn “President Biden’s failure to heed the advice of military and intelligence advisors about the speed and nature of the Taliban offensive” and his “inability to prevent a Taliban takeover or prepare for the long-term counterterrorism effects of a withdrawal.”
The proposal resolution calls on the president “to conduct a multi-agency accounting of US military equipment and other resources left behind in Afghanistan, now in the hands of the Taliban and other groups,” as well as “immediately present a clear plan to Congress of how he intends to fill intelligence gaps created by this chaotic withdrawal.”
According to the report, the resolution urges the administration to keep the evacuation operation ongoing “as long as necessary to safely evacuate any US citizen, lawful permanent resident and Afghan partner that requests evacuation assistance and to utilize all the US military resources to ensure access to Hamid Karzai International Airport remains open and unobstructed.”
Shipan Kumer Basu, who heads the World Hindu Struggle Committee, felt that it was a major mistake for the US to withdraw from Afghanistan and he welcomed this proposed legislation: “The US should never have withdrawn troops so abruptly. America and its allies are responsible for the present situation in Afghanistan. The agreement to withdraw troops from Afghanistan has helped strengthen both Pakistan, which is a breeding ground for terrorists, and the Taliban. Furthermore, if the US had not made a deal with the Taliban, the terror group would not have come to power in Afghanistan.”
According to Basu, Afghanistan has special significance in the Hindu faith and there used to be many Hindus in the country: “In the Mahabharat era, this country’s name was Gandarnagar and the king was Shukani. Today, there are almost no Hindus left and the condition of the few that remain is very critical. However, the rise of the Taliban in Afghanistan not only threatens Hindus, but all peace-loving people across the world. No country will be safe.”
Already, Basu noted that the rise of the Taliban in Afghanistan has adversely affected the struggle against radical Islam throughout the Indian subcontinent: “The police in the Indian state of Assam have arrested 14 extremist Muslims for posting social media videos in support of the Taliban. In another video in West Bengal, extremists called for jihad against non-Muslims in the wake of the Taliban taking over Afghanistan. In another video message, Islamist extremists started to threaten Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

Prasanna Kumar Roy, chief financial adviser to the World Hindu Struggle Committee and a prominent businessman from West Bengal, India, said that since the Taliban took over Afghanistan, armed terrorists have appeared with their weapons in different areas of India and Bengal: “If these people are not repressed, then they will be a threat to different peace-loving people across the Indian subcontinent.”
He added that what is happening in Afghanistan today is a crime against humanity: “I am shocked to see the plight of women and children in Afghanistan. I do not want to see such an inhuman scene in any country. May people everywhere be awakened by such sights.”
Both Basu and Roy called upon the international community to wake up and to support the Republican initiative to delay the US withdrawal from Afghanistan, especially considering the fact that the Hill reported that 1,500 Americans remain in Afghanistan, alongside many Afghani partners of the US, whose lives will be endangered if they are left behind. It was these same Afghan partners who were among those killed in the recent terror attacks, as these Afghans ignored security warnings by various countries to avoid the airport due to their desperation to flee the Taliban.
In conclusion, Basu stressed that the community of nations must now join hands in the wake of this terror attack and finish off the terror groups in Afghanistan: “China has already invested money in Afghanistan and Bangladesh like Pakistan depends upon Chinese money. Hence, all pressure should be placed upon Pakistan. Let this world be made livable once again.”
