“For me and my fellow Jewish students, Israel-hating rhetoric and Jewish-hating rhetoric feels the same because they are the same: Both are anti-Semitism,” said Joey Karlan, Club Z alumnus.

Today, the Guardian reported that the Taliban has been beating up women and children who have been trying to reach the Kabul airport in order to flee Afghanistan. This comes after the Taliban assured the US that they would provide “safe passage” to those seeking to flee the country, after the murderous terror group assumed control of the nation after the US decided to withdraw from Afghanistan.
In an exclusive interview, Shipan Kumer Basu, who heads the World Hindu Struggle Committee, stated, “After the Taliban took control of the country, the Hindu, Buddhist, Christian and Sikh communities and all pro-democracy citizens became concerned about security and safety. The country’s women are also emotionally broken, with various media outlets expressing concern about their helplessness, security and future. But so far no action has been taken by the international community, not even a statement. As a result, there is growing concern and anxiety among the peace-loving people there.”
According to Basu, the Islamists in Bangladesh have been “praising and wishing the Taliban well. In their view, the victory of the Taliban means the victory of Islam and the victory of Sharia law there. They believe that this time, Sharia law will be introduced in Afghanistan and all non-Muslims there will be converted to Islam.” He continued, “the ideas promoted by the Bangladeshi radicals are not merely baseless; we have seen how non-Muslims are persecuted in Muslim-majority countries and what kind of tactics are used to convert them.”
“I have said many times before that if the fundamentalists are not freed from their clutches, the region will face serious insecurity,” Basu noted. “Citizens of Hindu, Buddhist, Christian, Sikh, Jain, Indigenous and even Jewish communities living in Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan will be destitute. Not only that, the peace loving mothers and sisters of the Muslim community in these countries as well as the minority community will also be crushed in their hands.”
The Taliban is notorious for amputating body parts and stoning women to death, in addition to compelling them to wear a burqa that even covers their eyes. Malala Yousafzai, a Pakistani women’s rights activist, faced a Taliban assassination attempt for arguing that girls should have the right to attend school.
“In the last two decades, millions of Afghan women and girls received an education. Now the future they were promised is dangerously close to slipping away” she recently wrote in an op-ed in the New York Times. “The Taliban — who until losing power 20 years ago barred nearly all girls and women from attending school and doled out harsh punishment to those who defied them — are back in control. Like many women, I fear for my Afghan sisters. Already, we are hearing reports of female students being turned away from their universities, female workers from their offices.”
“Every day, minorities in different parts of Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan are being persecuted by the fundamentalists, but the political organizations, including the civil society, are limited to condemning the remedy,” Basu added. “Despite reports of violence against minorities in Bangladesh, Bangladeshi Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing against minorities.”
Retired Major General A.N.M. Muniruzzaman said in an interview: “The Taliban have influence over the militants in Bangladesh.” A report published in the BBC Online on 14 August quoted a police official as saying, “Some people from Bangladesh have migrated to join the Taliban. Analysts believe that Bangladesh’s banned extremist groups have long had links with extremists in Afghanistan.”

According to Basu, “The present illegitimate Awami League government is working to introduce Islamic Sharia law by turning the country into an Islamic state by secretly colluding with Jamaat-e-Islam, Hefazat-e-Islam, Ulama League, Ansarullah Bangla, Harkatul Jihad, JMB, Khelafah Majlis and all other fundamentalist organizations. The Awami League has links with every radical organization, as well as with the militant group ISIS. Due to the government’s links with the militant Taliban, a large number of Muslims have been able to cross the border from Bangladesh to Afghanistan without any hindrance and join the Taliban. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has lied that “minorities are not tortured in the country” as part of such secret activities of the government.”
“Neighboring countries like Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and many more countries will face direct losses due to the occupation of Afghanistan by the Taliban,” Basu stressed. “There will be tremendous pressure on India’s economy and society. Considering the future security, the fundamentalists of this region must be suppressed now. Otherwise, the level of violence will continue to rise day by the day and the lives and livelihoods of all non-Muslims in the region, including India, will be threatened.”
“I urge the international community to crack down on the Taliban, ISIS and all other radical groups in the region,” Basu concluded. “Otherwise, the Indian subcontinent will become a sanctuary for militants and the existence of ordinary people will disappear. I thank the heads of state of all countries, including the United States, Britain and Russia, who have declared that they will not recognize the Taliban regime in Afghanistan.”
“The US withdrawal from Afghanistan means one thing. Israel can only rely upon itself.” proclaimed Ayoob Kara, who served as Israel’s Communication, Satellite and Cyber Minister, in an exclusive interview. “It is a continuation of Obama’s Arab Spring policy, which turned into a black winter and resulted in Israel getting surrounded by ISIS and the like. It is critical to note that Israel was within reach of making peace with both Afghanistan and Pakistan (yes, there were important meetings.) But now, the situation is uncertain and only time will tell what will happen to these countries. This is another loss for us, after Trump left office and we got a new government in Israel.”
