The traditional Christmas mass and prayers will still take place, but without Christmas trees or festive lights.
The root of all modern-day evils for the new left is colonialism, and Israel is, they claim, a colonialist power.

“This is in fact the actualization of a globalized intifada through violence,” said the president of Federation CJA of the sharp spike in antisemitism since Oct. 7.

“Never again?”
Apparently the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg does not recall what the survivors of Hitler’s brutal death camps said when WWII ended in 1945: “Never again.” By warning Winnipeg Jews to stay away from an in-person Rally for Israel on Saturday organized by the Israeli Canadian Council, the JFW undermined the determination of the Jews of Winnipeg to stand against Islamist terrorism, antisemitism and murder.
Fortunately, about 50 members of the Winnipeg Police Department supported by 30 cruiser cars formed a line to hold back about 300 violent pro-Palestinian protestors. The intrepid police action stopped serious violence from occurring.
Before the event even began, the organizer, Ron East—publisher of TheJ.ca—was physically assaulted by a group of Palestinian protesters who came at him, spitting and wiping their shoes on an Israeli flag.
They then started to shove him violently, knocking off his glasses. Police had to intervene and force them back across Broadway, away from where the pro-Israel supporters were gathering on Memorial Boulevard.
Seeing the Israeli supporters gathering growing on the designated corner, the hundreds of Palestinian protesters who were congregating for a car rally as agreed to with the police in front of the Legislature, abandoned their cars and attempted to rush the Israel supporters from the left and right flanks. Their rush was stopped by the police who marshalled them to the opposite side of Memorial Blvd. from where the pro-Israel supporters stood, exhibiting great restraint in the face of the relentless obscenities shouted at them.
At one point, a screeching pro-Palestinian woman charged the police line and nearly broke through. If she had succeeded, the peaceful pro-Israel supporters would have received a severe beating (or worse) by the pro-Palestinian protesters who attempted to swarm through the breach in the police line created by the woman.
She was handcuffed by police because her violent attack knocked a pro-Israel supporter to the pavement, giving pro-Palestinians a chance to steal two Israelis flags, which they immediately burned.
Other unlawful tactics used by the pro-Palestinians included: lobbing bottles filled with water (they hurt, like rocks), igniting pyrotechnics, and, in many cases, ignoring the strict Covid lockdown by not wearing masks and spitting into the faces of police officers by frequently screaming “Free Palestine.” (The pro-Palestinians are seemingly too ignorant to know that Palestine is not a state.)

On our way home we were accosted in a traffic jam on Main Street by a pro-Palestinian who got out of his vehicle and attempted to snatch an Israeli flag from my wife, who was holding it out of our car window. He made two attempts; my wife foiled them both. After his second failure, he screamed that my wife was a “fucking bitch” and returned to his expensive SUV.
Thanks are due to Ron East for his ongoing dedication to and hard work in the fight against antisemitism. His aim this day, as he said, was to have “a party,” a peaceful and joyful show of solidarity with Israel. Unfortunately, in the face of violent and irrational hate, the “party” he expected became what he described as “a day of rage” incited by the Palestinian protesters.
“Never again” is nothing but a hollow phrase if groups like the JFW discourage their members from participating in a Rally for Israel by using excuses such as it is the Sabbath and Covid-19 is prevalent. In reality, the pro-Palestinian enemy does not care about Jewish holy days or a pandemic. They care only about eradicating Israel and destroying Judaism.
It is time for Jews throughout the world to wake up and say, “Never again.”
