In recent days, the Iranian deal nuclear talks have advanced, while the United States has signaled that it is willing to offer sanctions relief to the mullahs in Tehran in order to obtain progress. In response to this development, a webinar was organized by DPP, EADM Association and the CAPTRI Coalition in Brussels, which criticized the Biden administration’s Iran policy.

Dr. Khalaf Al Khaibi, the head of the Foreign Affairs Committee in ASMLA, stated: “The humanitarian situation in Iran is going from bad to worse. The regime is following destructive policies in Iran and beyond. The people are suffering from a stifling economy. Our Ahwazi people are suffering from complete poverty, despite living on one of the richest lands in the Middle East (as) 100% of our wealth is spent on terrorism and Iran’s militias in Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Lebanon.”

According to Dr. Khaibi, the Iranian regime is spreading drugs among Ahwazi youth in order to destroy their future: “This is one of the regime’s crimes against humanity. However, the most dangerous problem is the nuclear agreement with Iran, a country that does not respect the law nor its neighbors and is trying to dominate over others, killing and displacing millions of Syrians, Iraqis and Yemenites, and killing thousands of innocent Ahwazi, Baloch, Azerbaijanis and Kurds within their border.”

Dr. Khaibi questioned how the Europeans and Americans can sit down with such thugs and murderers: “Granting a nuclear advantage to this repressive regime means placing the entire region in great danger.   This will cause a nuclear race among the countries in the region. It should be noted that Iran is threatening its neighbors without nukes. Imagine what will be the situation if the mullahs get nukes.”

“We are confident that they are struggling to get nuclear weapons,” he asserted, “therefore, giving any concessions to this defunct region which lost its credibility among the Iranian people and the nations of the region would be disastrous. Hence, we request our European and American friends not to give any kind of concessions to the mullahs and their corrupt clique that destroyed the entire region.”

Fulvio Martuciello, a member of the European Parliament, said that it is important for Europe and America to stop Iran from going nuclear.

“For decades, the international community, the US and the EU have been mobilized to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons because they believe that nuclear weapons in the hands of a terrorist regime would threaten the region as well as peace and stability in the Middle East. Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, and other Arab countries in the region as well as the non-Iranian minorities including Ahwazi, Balochis, Kurds and Azeris are alarmed by Iran’s aggressive regional policy. The EU and the international community have a great interest in maintaining stability in the Middle East.”

A nuclear armed Iran would strengthen Iran’s aggressive foreign policy including its involvement in Syria, Iraq and Lebanon, the Italian politician explained, “as well as Israel through its proxies including Hezbollah, Hamas and other terrorist groups and its sponsorship of rebels in Yemen.

“The Iranian regime is considered as the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism through its financial support of terrorist groups such as Hezbollah, Hamas and others. We have no guarantees that the nuclear technology will not be shared with these hostile groups which could threaten the stability of the EU and the Middle East.”

For this reason, Manel Msalmi, an advisor to the European Parliament, believes that a nuclear Iran should be stopped.

Noting that Iran’s nuclear program and other actions by this regime are destroying the planet and Obama’s deal did nothing to stop that, she emphasized how “the Iranian regime sponsors terrorism worldwide and this would increase by acquiring nuclear weapons. In September 2019, Iran launched drones that attacked Saudi oil fields. It also attacked US troops in Iraq in January 2020. The regime has supplied weapons to Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas. These organizations have always targeted Israel and want to destroy it.”

“We all remember the Beirut explosion in 2020 which looked like an accident in which 150 people were killed, thousands were wounded, and half of the city was destroyed,” Msalmi added. “It was interpreted as an accident and as the outcome of neglect. Officials have launched an investigation looking at the port warehouse which held 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate. It has fueled so many explosions accidental and intentional.”

“One of the major consequences of Iran nuclear deal is killing the environment of the non-Iranian populations mainly that of Ahwaz in which they develop nuclear energy and throw the dirt in the water which becomes undrinkable and even poisoning for the inhabitants. The drinking water delivered to homes in Ahwaz is so dirty. There is an environmental degradation of the lands there and the area is ranked as the most polluted in the world.”

“With regard to security and environmental issues, the EU and the US should think seriously about the consequences of the Iran nuclear deal on the non-Iranian peoples as well as the neighboring countries,” Msalmi concluded, “because it would involve severe consequences such as climate refugees, terrorism and probably a nuclear war between countries of the region which would have a disastrous impact on our planet.”
