Not for long, they didn’t. Lifetime TV network announced last Friday “we honor Linda Sarsour.” By Sunday, the “ultimate women’s channel” pretended it didn’t happen. (Photo @lifetimetv Twitter)

This week, she may be posing defiantly on a pro-Biden video ad aimed at Muslim voters, she may be bellowing through a megaphone at a Breonna Taylor march, she may be a panelist on the subject of Christian Zionism, but one thing Linda Sarsour is NOT, is a #Fiercefemale honoree of Lifetime TV. At least, not any more.
The antisemitic heroine of the progressive radical movement was the subject of a fawning tribute on Twitter by the network, which published a flattering art portrait of the “award winning civil rights activist advocating for human rights.”
“Humbled and honored” was how she described her reaction initially on Facebook. However an avalanche of criticism on Twitter demonstrated that the basic cable channel, jointly owned by Hearst Communications and The Walt Disney Company, may have misread the room. The reaction on Twitter was so UN-flattering, the network quietly deleted the post and made it disappear.
“#Lifetime supports antisemitism and honors notorious antisemite #LindaSarsour. Take this channel off of your watching list now,” proclaimed a Jewish lawyer and noted Zionist. An activist laid out her malign influence, recounting “Linda Sarsour brought Jew hate to North Carolina by falsely accusing ADL police exchanges with Israel for racial violence. Her racist dog whistles divided our community by inciting hate against the Jewish community. POC are infuriated with her denying police to vulnerable communities.”
Toronto activist Shia DeLuca tweeted, “This is beyond vile. She caused the worst institutionalized antisemitism scandal in years, destroying what was one of the most important social justice movements of our time, the Women’s March. Idolizing antisemites is beyond abhorrent.”
Neither Lifetime or broadcast division officials from parent A&E have made any comment about why the tweet honoring Sarsour disappeared.
NDP MP claims Israel throttling Palestinian COVID response
Manitoba Member of Parliament Nikki Ashton re-asserted her credentials as the most anti-Israel member of the NDP caucus with a multi-pronged attack on Twitter last week.
On October 14 she asserted “Many Canadians are speaking out against the despicable treatment of Palestinian children in Israeli detention.” Referencing a letter by two caucus members to Minister of Foreign Affairs François Philippe Champagne attached to her post, she continued, “COVID outbreaks in Israeli prisons are very concerning.”
The letter, alleged the pandemic situation in the West Bank and Gaza was exacerbated by Israel in withholding tax payments to the PA. It said, “We support the PA’s request for financial support from the Canadians government to help pay the wages of medical workers as part of Canada’s international effort to support poorer countries in the fight against COVID-19.”
The writers also asserted “the humanitarian crisis in Palestine is never ending”, including “summary arrests (of) (700 children arrested each year)”. Ashton promoted the agenda, stating, “The Liberals must be clear with Israel that this is no way to treat children.”

“Real rise” in racist rhetoric shows Vancouver “no longer safe and they need to do something.”
A man living in Vancouver’s Downtown East Side found two Nazi symbols drawn near the front door of his apartment building, telling the press there are increasing signs of racist graffiti and violence around the area.
Graham Williams lives on Hastings St. West, between Carrall and Abbott, and was taking his dog out Sunday morning. He discovered a chalk drawing image of a white swastika and an eagle.
“Usually swastikas are drawn, carved or painted by folks who are trying to be edgy…Someone took the time to do this, and the [Imperial] Eagle implies to me that…this is someone for whom the ideology is important to them,” Williams told BCIT. He immediately found police outside tending to a call nearby and alerted them.
Vancouver is Awesome reported that Williams spotted a Confederate flag hanging in a window lately as well: “I also hope it’s a one-off – we’ve seen a rise in graffiti in general around here. There’s a spray-painted ‘anti-nazi zone’ on the clinic around the corner. So this may be a response to that?”
“My blood pressure just spiked. Luckily this was just chalk”, said a DJ who found Nazi graffiti near his DTES apartment. (Photo Graham Williams)
Also well-known around the club scene as the DJ, 3P0, Williams told Citynews1130 radio of a “real rise” in racist rhetoric in the Gastown area recently, as well as stabbings, pepper sprayings, arson and shootings. “We’re hearing things on the street, things that you would not have heard a year ago. People are using language and words that I find absolutely abhorrent.”
“There are a lot of folks in this area who are visible minorities, LGBTQ, and we’ve heard a lot of language directed towards folks like us … The language that we’re hearing right now, the imagery that we’re seeing, the iconography that we’re seeing, the attitude that we’re seeing — it’s out of control.
“This is not the Vancouver we know. This is not the Vancouver that I think anyone wants to live in. It’s no longer safe and they need to do something.”
