Remembering Neil Uditsky

May G-d inscribe you all for a good sweet new year.

Just wanted to share with you for your Website my fresh memories of Neil Uditsky of Toronto.

Recently, (before Covid-19) I had a long coffee morning meeting with Neil at the kosher Aroma in Toronto. Being a rabbi & also in the Life Insurance industry, he felt I had much to add to the UJA Federation. He asked me to come very early in the morning to Aroma, near UJA, so he’d be able to have a full day.

We talked & talked, the whole morning.  Then he stopped. He said that his kid in Montreal would be calling him, to please excuse him, when his son called.  Family was obviously precious & valuable to him.

When I’d canvas in the Board Meeting room downtown, I decided to ask for the bigger donors of UJA & try my Mazel with canvassing them.   I called my cards next to Neil, who was calling the Major donors, so I could hear how the Pro does it.

I’d ask him a question or for a tip. He’d answer me quickly & clearly, not wanting to waste a second from his Major Donor calling. For Neil, it wasn’t just a job, it was his Passion & Life!

At events downtown, he’d take me by my arm to make feel at home, excitedly showing me the kosher food.

The seriousness that he treated his job & the events that he organized with Shimmy Wener, were easy to see on his face, from how serious he took what he was doing.  May his memory be for a blessing.

Yehi Zichro Baruch!

Re: The Conflict In Israel Explained Through A Bag Of Oranges

It is a religious war and it will not end in the near future. As you see, I am still an optimist…

Yes. It looks like only one side there is interested in peace. For the UN this side is called “aggressors”.

Nothing new. We have seen already so (too) many times.

Things are changing.  Now the peace paradigm is described as peace for peace instead of land for peace.  That however, is likely a distraction as the Israel-UAE peace deal according to some sources is that Israel not ever annex any land it won in 1967.  Netanyahu says it is only a temporary concession.  The Saudis have said they won’t make peace with Israel unless Israel gives back all land it took control of in 1967, which essentially is the same peace offering the Saudis made back in 1972 with the peace deal idea they floated.

As much as the Arab nations detest the Palestinians as being dishonest, unstable, unreliable, corrupt, terrorist inclined and a threat to their nations if they ever allowed them refuge as citizens, they want the Palestinian issue to be Israel’s problem, not theirs.

Re: Canada Superstar Israel Advocates

Your organization is utterly contemptible.  Keep lionizing people like Lauren Isaacs and orgs like herut.  Please.  Perfect way to become completely discredited.

Building Bridges

Thank you for the column by Professor Solly Dreman about his friendship with the filmmaker Don Barnard.  I am concerned our community is overlooking Barnard’s perception about “the message that aboriginal youth are getting in the prisons and the mixed martial arts clubs (being) a completely slanted pro-Palestinian point of view.” Our local federations should use this film when it is released to make build bridges with First Nations leaders and jointly approach organizations disseminating hate against Zionists to educate and inform them of the facts on the ground.

Thank you for choosing TheJ.Ca as your source for Canadian Jewish News.

We do news differently!

Our positioning as a Zionist News Media platform sets us apart from the rest. While other Canadian Jewish media are advocating increasingly biased progressive political and social agendas, TheJ.Ca is providing more and more readers with a welcome alternative and an ideological home.

We revealed the incursion of anti-Israel progressive elements such as IfNotNow into our communities. We have exposed the distorted hateful agenda of the “progressive” left political radicals who brought Linda Sarsour to our cities, and we were first to report on many disturbing incidents of Nazi-based hate towards Jews across Canada.

But we can’t do it alone. We need your HELP!

Our ability to thrive and grow in 2020 and beyond depends on the generosity of committed readers and supporters like you.

Monthly support is a great way to help us sustain our operations. We greatly appreciate any contributions you can make to support Jewish Journalism.
