It is always heartening to receive feedback on our reports and columns, as well as being advised of initiatives in fighting antisemitism. The column by Vivienne Ziner about the plight of the Uyghur Muslims oppressed by the communist regime in China provoked a broader analysis of their long-game plans to spread influence and control.

Re: “Six Degrees Of Separation: My Uyghur Cousins — And Me”

Short of negotiating with China for the release of the Uyghur people for resettlement in sanctuary countries in exchange for concessions, there is little the world can do to immediately halt the atrocity. China, for thousands of years, has harbored genocidal intentions towards its weaker neighbors, a tragedy all-too-often playing out through Asia’s history.

If the United States and her allies agreed to unanimously withdraw all funding from China and outlaw business transactions with her, then the regime would lose the financing it depends upon to upgrade and empower its military.

Agencies like the Pacific Council on International Policy have long warned that China intends to trigger its own cold war with America and continue establishing dependent states through the Belts and Roads initiative.

While the communist regime is not openly an enemy of Israel, the Jerusalem Post reported that its middle-eastern intentions are worrisome in that they are funding, arming, and assisting Iran. Tehran may have sold whatever remains of its soul to President XI Jinping and his comrades. In any event, we may be witnessing the utter failure of American foreign policy: a catastrophic withdrawal from the Middle East benefiting Iran, terror groups, and now the Chinese military.

Profile of Dubai Jews eye-opening

With a century of attrition of Jewish populations from Arab lands, under the most oppressive of circumstances, the normalization agreement between Israel and the UAE is a welcome development. Regardless of the political gamesmanship behind it, the leadership shown to broker this peace will have a long-lasting and positive effect on the Middle East.

As described in your story Dubai’s Jews Excited After Peace Deal, the tolerance of our people in the kingdom has set the stage for economic growth, cultural exchanges, and of course Jewish and other tourism. One certainly hopes that the reports of possible similar agreements with Sudan and Morocco will follow. This is a great achievement and finally, we might be seeing the acceptance of our right to exist among more of our neighbours.

Adopt Internationally Recognized IHRA Definition of Antisemitism

HonestReporting Canada has issued an open letter calling on Canadian media outlets to adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of antisemitism.

It’s imperative for Canadian news organizations and journalists to use the IHRA definition in their own reporting of Israel to not allow expressions of antisemitism masquerading as political positions to have a seat at the proverbial table. Rather, media outlets should be firm and understanding that the characterization of Israel as a modern-day Nazi state, or allowing classical antisemitic imagery to be repeated in reference to Israel, is to be an unwitting participant in the spread of hatred against Jews across Canada.

At a time when antisemitic incidents have reached near historic levels and when Jews remain the most targeted minority group in Canada, IHRA helps to identify instances of Jew-hatred and to enforce laws and policies to counter the scourge of antisemitism.  To read our letter to Canadian media outlets, click here.

Thank you for choosing TheJ.Ca as your source for Canadian Jewish News.

We do news differently!

Our positioning as a Zionist News Media platform sets us apart from the rest. While other Canadian Jewish media are advocating increasingly biased progressive political and social agendas, TheJ.Ca is providing more and more readers with a welcome alternative and an ideological home.

We revealed the incursion of anti-Israel progressive elements such as IfNotNow into our communities. We have exposed the distorted hateful agenda of the “progressive” left political radicals who brought Linda Sarsour to our cities, and we were first to report on many disturbing incidents of Nazi-based hate towards Jews across Canada.

But we can’t do it alone. We need your HELP!

Our ability to thrive and grow in 2020 and beyond depends on the generosity of committed readers and supporters like you.

Monthly support is a great way to help us sustain our operations. We greatly appreciate any contributions you can make to support Jewish Journalism.

We thank you for your ongoing support.
