Jewish Doctor In New York May Have Found COVID-19 Treatment

The Zelenko Protocol has shown promise in fending off Coronavirus in so many cases, that it’s a mystery why it’s not widely adopted

Dr Zev Zelenko claims he has the formula to stop COVID-19

Four months into Covid-19, where have we gotten? Flattened the curve, check. Ontario is in Stages two and three of reopening its economy, check. People are social distancing, wearing masks and hand washing, check, check, check.

On the other hand, what destruction has Covid-19 left in its wake? 2,764 deaths in Ontario (about nine thousand nationally), devastated livelihoods too numerous to count, 800 cancer surgeries cancelled every month, a sharp increase in domestic violence, substance abuse, and suicide rates.

What if all this loss could have been averted? Would you be listening if an “old”, well-known medication was repurposed to cure a newer malady?

Dr. Vladimir (Zev) Zelenko, a board-certified physician in Monsey, New York has done just that. At the outbreak of COVID-19, he developed the Zelenko Protocol, a cocktail of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ), zinc, and azithromycin. HCQ has been around for a long time and is known to be safe. Traditionally, it has been used to cure malaria, but when combined with zinc and azithromycin, Dr. Zelenko found it cured all his patients in his Monroe, New York clinic of Covid-19, except one.

Zelenko touts this protocol to reduce hospitalizations by 80 per cent (a real flattening of the curve) with a success rate of 99.3 per cent in high-risk patients, and 100 per cent in low/no risk patients.

His protocol ostensibly delivers the knockout punch to this virus. Zelenko, an Orthodox Jew, says the zinc acts as the bullet (kills the virus), the hydroxychloroquine is the gun (delivers the zinc), and the azithromycin is the protective vest (protects the patient from a secondary bacterial lung infection while treatment is ongoing). This regimen has been successful in at least a dozen countries across the globe, according to reports.

The key to the Zelenko Protocol is to identify high-risk patients and to treat them early, within the first five days of symptoms. No need for hospitalization or intubation. This is an outpatient treatment for family doctors to oversee. Total cost: $20.

Since the cost is so low, it can be scaled easily for large populations. It’s a win-win situation. Right? Wrong.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, America’s “Top Doctor” and director of the National Institute of Health, and in Canada’s case, Dr. Theresa Tam, Chief Public Officer of Health, have not recognized this protocol.

On the contrary, they seem to be denigrating it, by saying the evidence is non-conclusive, and the protocol has not been peer-reviewed. (In fact, the study has been peer-reviewed. Data analysis was conducted by two top German scientists, Dr. Roland Derwand and Dr. Martin Scholz, and their paper was recently published.)

Sales of hydroxychloroquine are banned in Canada, and most physicians in the United States won’t prescribe it. Instead, hospitals have adopted Remdesivir as the drug of choice. It can only be taken in a hospital setting. It has a 30 per cent efficacy rate and reduces a patient’s hospital stay from 15 to 10 days. Total cost: $3,200 plus hospital fees.

What is really bizarre is that Dr. Fauci approved the use of hydroxychloroquine 15 years ago. On Aug. 22, 2005, the Virology Journal, National Institute of Health’s official publication, issued the following statement: “Chloroquine is a potent inhibitor of SARS Coronavirus infections and spread. These inhibitory effects are observed when the cells are treated with the drug either before or after exposure to the virus, suggesting both prophylactic and therapeutic advantage.”

Essentially, that means we could be done with this virus. Our frontline workers, essential workers, and high-risk patients could take the cocktail as a prophylactic, and the rest of the population only need it as a therapeutic, if infected. Imagine the lives and livelihoods that could have been saved.

Many physicians and politicians including Ontario Premier Doug Ford and Health Minister Christine Elliott are opting for the ultra-expensive, not-really-effective Remdesivir as a COVID-19 treatment

Now, surprisingly, the tide might be turning. On June 4, the Lancet and The New England Journal of Medicine have retracted their unflattering reviews of the Zelenko Protocol, after admitting that faulty data led them to wrong conclusions. They issued an apology to Zelenko “for any inconvenience this may have caused.” Doctors are speaking out about the terrible toll COVID-19 has exacted on the world, and they are giving documented evidence of the success they have had with their patients and the Protocol in their own clinics.

Dr. Brian Procter of McKinney, Texas uses a similar regimen with excellent results. He adds that there are no cardiovascular side-effects from HCQ. Yale epidemiology professor at Yale School of Public Health, Dr. Harvey Risch, asserts that HCQ can save 75,000-100,000 lives if the drug were widely available.

Recently, a group of doctors gathered on Capitol Hill to speak out against the needless carnage caused by Covid-19.

In the cash-strapped province of Ontario, where healthcare costs are spiralling out of control, and more procedures are increasingly being defunded, why is Premier Doug Ford and Health Minister Christine Elliott opting for the ultra-expensive, not-really-effective Remdesivir, when a simple remedy is in plain view?

As pharmaceutical companies race to roll out the first COVID-19 vaccine, a vaccine may not even be necessary. Vaccines take about 10 years to be developed, tested and perfected. Right now, there is a remedy that was tested, peer-reviewed and it works.

The pandemic did not have to be the debacle it was. Neither does life have to be so, going forward.
