This first-ever online FIDF IMPACT! event will take place on Sunday, August 2, 2020. The event will begin at 2:00 PM EDT. There will be an encore screening at 6:00 PM EDT. FIDF proudly supports IDF soldiers, families of fallen soldiers, and wounded veterans.

JASON ALEXANDER will emcee Israel Cancer Research Fund Virtual Gala August 5

The Ribbons of Hope Gala on Wednesday, August 5 will feature the presentation of the Tower of Hope Humanitarian Award to Jason Alexander, in recognition of his generous support of cancer research in Israel and the Israel Cancer Research Foundation.

The evening will combine comedy and song, to help support ICRF’s mission to fund the best and brightest cancer researchers in Israel.

Feature appearances from Tom Brokaw, Eugene Levy, Bonnie Hunt, and Academy and Oscar Award Winner Benj Pasek, as well as special presentations by cancer survivors and Israeli cancer scientists, will make for a fabulous celebration. Viewers will be able to make online donations and place bids on an online auction, which will open on the gala site in the last week of July.

The Israel Cancer Research Fund is the largest charitable organization outside of Israel solely devoted to supporting cancer research in Israel. Grants issued by ICRF have gone to hundreds of researchers.

“This gala represents a unique opportunity to tell the story of Israel’s truly world-class research to a national audience in an entertaining, informative and engaging fashion,” said ICRF President Rob Densen. “We have an all-star lineup of scientists, journalists and entertainers, reflecting the strong appeal of the cause – ridding the world of the scourge that is cancer.”

“This gala is critical,” said Dr. Mark Israel, National Executive Director of the Israel Cancer Research Fund. “We are currently funding more than 70 different cancer research projects. But these are perilous times. The coronavirus continues to loom large in all our lives.” He noted the pandemic fallout how been “affecting the ICRF’s ability to fund world-class, life-saving cancer research.”

“They say laughter is the best medicine. But you know who says that? Comedians,”  Alexander said. “The best medicine is actually the product of brilliant cancer researchers working diligently and tirelessly in labs in Israel and across the world. That’s why I am so honored to contribute in some small way to this important cause.”

Thank you for choosing TheJ.Ca as your source for Canadian Jewish News.

We do news differently!

Our positioning as a Zionist News Media platform sets us apart from the rest. While other Canadian Jewish media are advocating increasingly biased progressive political and social agendas, TheJ.Ca is providing more and more readers with a welcome alternative and an ideological home.

We revealed the incursion of anti-Israel progressive elements such as IfNotNow into our communities. We have exposed the distorted hateful agenda of the “progressive” left political radicals who brought Linda Sarsour to our cities, and we were first to report on many disturbing incidents of Nazi-based hate towards Jews across Canada.

But we can’t do it alone. We need your HELP!

Our ability to thrive and grow in 2020 and beyond depends on the generosity of committed readers and supporters like you.

Monthly support is a great way to help us sustain our operations. We greatly appreciate any contributions you can make to support Jewish Journalism.

We thank you for your ongoing support.
