CannaGlobal, Sansero Life Sciences, and Rise Wellness announced the creation of CannaGlobal Wellness this week, poised to have an impact on the evolving psychedelics industry. The new company will be focused on psilocybin and other natural compounds. Psilocybin, better recognized as “magic mushrooms”, are naturally occurring and are consumed for their hallucinogenic effects.
The Chairman is Lorne Gertner, who told TheJ.ca “I’m excited and honoured to be part of this amazing journey. I have been a passionate advocate for mental health for decades”, he said, “and the formation of CannaGlobal Wellness fulfills one of my lifelong dreams: using natural therapies to help people live better, happier lives.” Gertner is a co-founder of Tokyo Smoke, Cannasat Therapeutics (now Cynapsus Therapeutics), and PharmaCan Capital (now The Cronos Group), and founded CannaGlobal.
“This is a major step forward for mental health in Canada and around the world,” said Gertner. “Without effective treatment, these illnesses can be debilitating, and even life threatening. Psilocybin is proven to have real benefits for treating serious conditions that affect millions of people.”
