A formal complaint has been filed with Peel Regional Police regarding the vile Antisemitic chants of “Jews are our dogs” heard this past weekend at the “Day of Rage” rally in Mississauga.

The Israeli Canadian Council – ICC asked Peel Regional Police to investigate the incident, which took place this past Sunday, as Hate Speech and use every available option under the Hate Crime legislation to properly sanction the protest organizers and those who took part in the chant.

ICC also asked Peel Regional Police to look into the actions and conduct of three officers seen posing for a photo with CD4HR manager, Firas Al Najim and his supporters. In the photo Al Najim holds a “No to Annexation” sign while other members hold a Palestinian flag with Al Quds mosque painted in its centre.

The caption above the photo reads “Many of the Peel Police supported the liberation of Palestine & call no to annexation.”

Jews who are already the most targeted group for hate crimes shouldn’t have to worry about the police taking a political stance on this delicate issue.

This is further compounded by the history and track record of CD4HR and Firas Al Najim and their vile antisemitic rhetoric.

CD4HR's Instagram post claiming some Peel Police officers support the liberation of Palestine

Most recently, Al Najim was the subject of a hate speech complaint in Ottawa which referenced a video made in late April in which he compared Zionism to Nazism.

The ICC is concerned about the optics of such a photo given the sensitivity surrounding the Israel-Palestine conflict and considering the recent spike in Antisemitic incidents across Canada and specifically the GTA area.

The ICC also made contact with the Mayor Bonnie Crombie’s office in Mississauga to raise their concerns and to ensure that Antisemitism isn’t allowed to spread in her city without recourse.

Thank you for choosing TheJ.Ca as your source for Canadian Jewish News.

We do news differently!

Our positioning as a Zionist News Media platform sets us apart from the rest. While other Canadian Jewish media are advocating increasingly biased progressive political and social agendas, TheJ.Ca is providing more and more readers with a welcome alternative and an ideological home.

We revealed the incursion of anti-Israel progressive elements such as IfNotNow into our communities. We have exposed the distorted hateful agenda of the “progressive” left political radicals who brought Linda Sarsour to our cities, and we were first to report on many disturbing incidents of Nazi-based hate towards Jews across Canada.

But we can’t do it alone. We need your HELP!

Our ability to thrive and grow in 2020 and beyond depends on the generosity of committed readers and supporters like you.
