He revealed to me the irrational truth I so desperately looked for, and for that, I am eternally grateful.

It was in my stormy, temperamental sixteenth year that my soul ventured outside of me and found itself inexplicable, inexorable attached to the Lubavitcher Rebbe.

As a natural-born thirsty soul, a headstrong, skeptical young girl, I was determined to find the truth of life and live it proudly. I began my search in the realms of normalcy. I remember so vividly, looking at the world around me and seeing money power and beauty; it was so very normal. And so, I plunged right in. I decided that I would dedicate my very essence to ambition and power, I would build an empire, and in doing so I would prove to Life itself that I was truly living.

We human beings feel so safe when everything is normal when everything has an answer and seems connected to rationality. We fold everything neatly into the four corners of our brains, abolishing all semblances of things we cannot understand.

We sometimes yearn for miracles, and yet we are afraid when we see them. Is the miracle proof that there is more to life? That there is a deeper truth and reality that we have not acknowledged?

Upon introduction to his truthful blue eyes, I felt struck by something miraculous. What men and women work a lifetime for, I came face to face within a matter of seconds, simply staring at the face of the Lubavitcher Rebbe. I had never seen anything so true before, it was love at first sight. The very contours of his holy face lifted the curtain between normal and irrational, between this world and the next, and in gazing at him I both coiled back in fear and emerged in courageous bravery to greet that eternal truth I was so desperately searching for. He banished every stitch of normalcy within and around me. The Rebbe called for irrationality, some might say insanity, and in heeding to his call, I was no longer afraid of those things I could not understand. Instead, I stood back in awe and simply gazed at the truth that towered over me.

Thank you for choosing TheJ.Ca as your source for Canadian Jewish News.

We do news differently!

Our positioning as a Zionist News Media platform sets us apart from the rest. While other Canadian Jewish media are advocating increasingly biased progressive political and social agendas, TheJ.Ca is providing more and more readers with a welcome alternative and an ideological home.

We revealed the incursion of anti-Israel progressive elements such as IfNotNow into our communities. We have exposed the distorted hateful agenda of the “progressive” left political radicals who brought Linda Sarsour to our cities, and we were first to report on many disturbing incidents of Nazi-based hate towards Jews across Canada.

But we can’t do it alone. We need your HELP!

Our ability to thrive and grow in 2020 and beyond depends on the generosity of committed readers and supporters like you.
