Two Dozen Anti Israel Protestors Cross East Broadway Beginning Day of Rage Flash Picket

‘Viva Viva Intifada! Viva Viva Palestina!’ were heard chanted once again across Canadian cities in what was touted as a Day of Rage – protests opposing Israel’s planned declaration of sovereignty over parts of Judea and Samaria.
In Vancouver on Friday, a sparse turnout of about 2 dozen lined a block of East Broadway at Clark Street at a “Flash picket to say No Israeli Annexation Free Palestine.” The host organizations were the Canada Palestine Association, represented by chair Hanna Kawas, and BDS Vancouver-Coast Salish Territories, represented by Aiyanas Ormond.
A notable participant was Charlotte Kates, international coordinator of Samidoun – Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network. She held a sign saying “No to annexation. No to Zionism”.
Samidoun – Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network is affiliated with the banned terrorist organization PFLP - Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine
According to NGO Monitor, “Samoudin is a main advocate for the release of Palestinian prisoners, many with ties to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terrorist organization (designated as such by the U.S., EU, Canada, and Israel)”.
Among the other signs and banners displayed by Vancouver protesters were “Stop Israeli Apartheid – End the Occupation”, “Support BDS”, and “Palestine will be FREE! SJP – Students for Justice in Palestine Boycott Israeli Apartheid”. That banner was held by a woman wearing a T-shirt with the terrorist group PFLP logo.
A supporter of the rally said on Facebook: “This is the right thing to stop this entity called Zionist Israel from stealing land from the rightful owners of Palestine, namely the Palestinians. A crime has been committed since the creation of this Apartheid State of Israel. These Zionists Jews are the worst of the worst akin to the Nazis of Adolph Hitler.”

In Toronto on Saturday, a crowd of about 150 anti-Israel protesters picketed the US Embassy, protesting the Trump “Deal of the Century”. According to Canadadoc.org., the organizers included Palestine House (Palestinian Canadian Community Centre), Just Peace Advocates, Students Against Israeli Apartheid at York University and Courage with the help of Socialist Action Canada and its federal secretary Barry Weisleder. Members of Independent Jewish Voices Canada and IfNotNow Toronto participated in the protest.

According to Canadadocs.org, “Odette Dabit, a board member of the Palestine House said: “The goal of the State of Israel is the ultimate annihilation of the Palestinian people.” … The crowd also chanted (originally in Arabic): “We will sacrifice (redeem) our soul and blood for Palestine”.

Among the organizations in support were CUPE Ontario, CJPME – Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East, Canadian BDS Coalition, CANADIAN Boat to Gaza, Climate Justice Toronto, Canadian Arab Federation – CAF, Apoyamos Chile – Toronto Canada, and the New Brunswick NDP Socialist Caucus. A number of University affiliated groups were also in support, including United South Asians at York (USAY), Solidarity for Palestinian Human Rights – McMaster, UWaterloo Students For Palestinian Rights-UW SFPR, and Academics for Palestine – Concordia.
A small contingent of pro-Israel demonstrators attended the Day of Rage gathering to counter protest. After heated verbal exchanges between the groups escalated, Toronto Police made at least 2 arrests of pro-Israel protestors, but at press time no information was available as to the possible charges laid, or if any Day of Rage activists were similarly apprehended.

In Montreal, a planned Day of Rage march was postponed by a day to Sunday to coincide with a “Stonewall X BLM” protest. Another example of how pro-Palestinian activists’ coattail and appropriate social causes to further the anti-Israel narrative. In Ottawa, a ‘Rally Opposing The Illegal Annexation Of The West Bank’ was scheduled to take place on Sunday near the Human Rights Monument on Elgin Street. Yet another example of how Palestinian activists attempt to hijack Human Rights as their own personal cause.
In the coming days more Day of Rage protests against the ‘annexation’ of West Bank land are scheduled to take place across Canada. In Halifax, Canada Day will play the backdrop to the ‘End Apartheid In Palestine’ Day of Rage event. July 4, US Independence Day, will mark the next set of anti-Israel protests scheduled for Mississauga and then a return to Toronto for one more kick at the anti-Israel narrative.

Our positioning as a Zionist News Media platform sets us apart from the rest. While other Canadian Jewish media are advocating increasingly biased progressive political and social agendas, TheJ.Ca is providing more and more readers with a welcome alternative and an ideological home.
We revealed the incursion of anti-Israel progressive elements such as IfNotNow into our communities. We have exposed the distorted hateful agenda of the “progressive” left political radicals who brought Linda Sarsour to our cities, and we were first to report on many disturbing incidents of Nazi-based hate towards Jews across Canada.
